Re: Shinji Ono faded away? yup higashikurume. i lived there for about a year when i was on a foreign exchange program.
Re: Shinji Ono faded away? i hope ono does get another shot at europe. technically, i think he is japan's best player. and i believe he's japan's most complete midfielder. it's a shame what injuries have done to him. but it's hard to see him transferring to europe since he's already what, 27-28? and if he's not going to play in the asian cup, then there will be less visibility for him.
Re: Shinji Ono faded away? Maybe he could substitute Nakamura at Celtic if Shunsuke goes somewhere else...
Re: Shinji Ono faded away? maybe. but realistically? i doubt it. nakamura will stay at celtic for at least another season. he said himself that he would like to stay at least one more year before moving to spain. by then ono will be 29-30. i find it hard to belive that a club like celtic will take their chances on a near 30 year old, injury-prone midfielder.
Re: Shinji Ono faded away? Realistically he has two options: stay in Urawa as one of the guys; or become a star player in a less popular club in Japan. Verdy and Sanga, if promoted and ambitious, could be two options. I REALLY doubt any major European club will sign Ono and offer him a place as a starting member...
Re: Shinji Ono faded away? There was an article about Shinji not being called up to the NT on Sports Graphic Number a couple of weeks ago. Made for interesting reading. But really, do sports writers actually expect him to get called up in such form?
shinji Ono - half Peruvian i hear his father is Peruvian. what do you think of it? seems japanese ppl want to hide the fact!
Re: shinji Ono - half Peruvian there are many japanese /chinese people in peru that comunity es the 2nd larget one outisde of japan in latin america! he could probably be half peruvian if his father was born in peru ... but he has the japanese bakground
Re: shinji Ono - half Peruvian Yeah there have been much relation between Japan and Peru from the past. And Ono grew up in single-mother family , but I can't find any Japanese souce that says Ono's father is Peruvian. Have you ever heard of it from some Peruvian source?
Re: shinji Ono - half Peruvian Well, like superfrantheman said, there have been rather movement of people between Japan and Peru , so it might not been so much "wow" if his father was Pervian. But you know, superfrantheman also said "he could probably be half peruvian if his father was born in peru", it is just "if". There arn't any source. It is like this ( using allegory ) There is a famous Turkish footballer and unfortunately he grew up in single-mother family. There is a certain hostile Armenian or Greek who was PMing racist comment to Turkish. Then he come to Turkish Board, and saying "this famous Turkish footballer's father is not Turkish but (for exmaple) Serbian, bla bla bla". But both Turkish and Serbian don't know such thing.
Re: shinji Ono - half Peruvian People.... before you make a thread, please do me a favor and search if the thread already exist or not.... thanks..
if Ono is peruvian, there would be a hint of south american in him, and i see no hint of that, although his hair is different than japanese, but then again my cousin has a freaky classmate , vietnamese but with naturally crimped hair. anyway he looks japanese to me. and about his career, the injuries are to blame of why he is going nowhere. He can't help getting injuries , so bleh. I guess he can't be bothered anymore
I think Ono should go to a new club for a fresh start. He's not too old to become a very very good player. If he leaves the reds, to a club which guaranteed him first team place every week, he'd be able to get his career back on track somewhat. Cause I believe he has a LOT to offer to Japanese football. Possibly, just possibly if he's good enought, the NT Cause we shouldn't forget how good he once was, he's not too old to get up to that peak again. I hope Shinji comes back cause he was one of my favorite players.
yeah i get what you mean, i've been supporting Inamoto, although i would like him to score once, he's still an optimistic player and i'm surprised at how lucky he is to even stay in europe, whether its a mid table club , i'm surprised. However Ono, if he plays good regularly, i guess he can go abroad again, i'd like him to. and he was a good player
psh i dunno, some korean poster started the conversation, i wouldn't careless, and i don't think people even knew that there was a possibility, it never occured to me and i guess it didn't occur to any other member of this forum except the guy that stated that he was
