somebody said ditch the flag and get something representative of the city before? just throwing this out there, since its withing throwing distance of it and its the backdrop for the view from saputo stadium how about putting the outline of the olympic building thins (ive been to montreal a solid amount but ive had a few drinks and i forgot the name of the buildng im surprised im typing this correctly) where the flag under "de Montrel" is. put it in black and then have the white cross behind it. that would look awesome to my opinion.
The Olympic Stadium's tower? The problem is that, despite its awesomeness, the Olympic Stadium and its components are much maligned in Montreal. Don't expect to see them on the logo. Could also be cool to have a "statue" on the shield, like Champlain, Jeanne Mance or the one at the tamtams.
hmmm when i think of montreal the first thing that would always come to my mind was the monreal stadium tower.... i guess thats why i thought that. but then again your team, you get to do the logo haha. i honestly looked at my last post which i had posted after a good amount of alcohol, i find it pretty funny i actually thought i was spelling pretty well haha
Ya, actually that one and new juventus one were the inspiration. I thought with the point at the top of the fleur de lys that pointed oval shape worked best when I was playing around with it.
Well, what we know for sure about the Impact's new logo is that they will be forced to remove the stars at the very top of the logo (to represent their championships). Since the league(s) those championships were won in don't exist anymore... or at least, not in the same form. As for the design, I would suggest that they keep what they have but remove the soccer ball from it. The fleur-de-lys with Impact written on top is pretty good to be honest. I know that a lot of you think that adding 'FC,' 'United,' 'AC' or even 'Réal' is a necessity for credibility, but let's face it: some of you are twats. I say the same logo minus the soccer ball.
I love your designs kmiiik. The first variation in particular. I truly think that the head office would be foolish not to contact you to use that logo.
Montreal Impact Football Club/Impact de Montréal Football Club since 1993. I would like to see Impact Montréal Football Club. And no, not the same logo without a ball, it may look stupid with one, but it's even stupider without one Lose the weird font, tilted logo, add something around it.
I don't think it looks wrong without the ball. In fact, the only thing that I would change is to put the Impact name straight from the left to the right. However, I REALLY REALLY liked kmiiik's designs and I think that he should send them over to the Impact offices. They're very professional-looking.
I liked the blue of the orginal better, and ditch the flag at the bottom, makes it look too busy- your first one was great out of gate
FWIW, apparently Saputo mentioned today (at a meet-and-greet with Montreal fans and Garber) that the logo would ressemble Seattle's and Philly's.
This is just an outsider's point of view, but I can't stand the name "Impact." It means nothing. It's abstract and lifeless. Montreal needs a name that represents something concrete about the city. I've always thought of Montreal as a very interesting place with a great history. The team representing that city should also tie into this history. As it is, Impact just sounds like a throwaway idea from some marketing person who doesn't understand soccer. Just my two cents.
