He's joined Huracan on a pro deal. If this means he'll be playing starter minutes, it seems like a pretty good landing spot. 597070092489338880 is not a valid tweet id
For posterity, I'll link to his inclusion in the final roster for the U20 World Cup: http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2015/05/07/08/30/150507-u20mnt-2015-world-cup-roster-rel
Love this move. Segunda B maybe third tier and a regionalized league but I've seen first hand how high the level is. I'd be shocked/impressed if Moore can become a regular by the conclusion of preseason. Regardless it should be a great learning environment.
Huracan beat Logrones 3-2 on aggregate in the first round of the promotion playoffs. They have two more rounds to get through in order to be promoted to the second division.
Huracan beat CD Guadalajara--not that CD Guadalajara--by a 2-0 aggregate score and have one more series to go for promotion.
Huracan lost 2-0 against Huesca today in the second leg of the promotion playoff, losing the tie 3-1 on aggregate.
Preseason training is underway--just a couple weeks after the previous season ended--and Shaq is mentioned as being with the team here: http://www.huracancf.com/noticias/2015/07/14/arranca-la-pretemporada-para-hurac-n-cf
I wonder if he'll player fullback for Huracan, he doesn't seem to have the technical or passing ability to play it (well at least he didn't at the U20 WC), but I wonder if he could transition to central defense.
I'm willing to wait to see how he fairs after a couple games with his club. But Payne was significantly better at the WC, which makes sense given he's already fighting for first team minutes in a quality league, while Moore is in the third tier.
Got on in the first game in the 60': Segundo cambio en Huracán. Entra @Sh4qMoore y se marcha Javi Soria (1-1, m.60)— Huracán Saguntino C.F (@CF_Huracan) August 22, 2015
Started the last game (1-1 tie). Seems to have made history at Huracan as well: https://translate.google.com/transl...ce-historia-con-hurac-n-cf&edit-text=&act=url
Today was the first round of the Copa del Rey - apparently, Huracan Valencia are good enough to have gotten a bye into the second round. They will play UD Socuellamos.
I agree that Payne was excellent, and about as good a YNT RB as we've seen lately (though Yedlin was pretty terrific too). But I do think Moore has picked up a bit of a bad rap. He has great recovery speed and tackles very well. He's not the attacking wing some others in the pool are. He might not ever be. The career path he's chosen is certainly unusual for a "consensus elite" YNT player, but by the same token he's certainly chosen to take himself out of his comfort zone. If the standard for MNT-level RBs at 20 is now at the Yedlin/Payne level, great, but I'm not writing this guy off yet.
His touch and decision are quite poor...those skills don't tend to magically get better in your twenties. His ceiling is probably similar to a Kofi Sarkodie, absolutely nothing wrong with that, he just doesn't belong in the national team picture, ever.
