Why doesn't Zambrano stop going for truly over the hill players, and look for a professional veteran like Sforza. He's been released by Bayern Munich, and he is 32.

Listen, I know he's old, and I would much rather try to develop young players. However, this guy will at least bring some class to a team that is bereft with intrigue, and a retard as a coach.

He's pretty solid and has a few years ahead of him...however I don't want to lose anothe SI. The good choice from an all around look would be David Regis.

My personal view would be to leave the defense alone. Petke and Jolley are suffering career-worst years. They can't play any worse, but they will get better.

The good thing, is that we know that these players want to play for the team. They bleed for the team.

However, if Zambrano insists that changes are needed, then I would suggest someone like Sforza who can handle the ball in the back. He is also a good organizer which we need. If we get him, it basically means good bye to Balboa.

Im telling you its not a player thing its a defensive scheme and cohesion thing. We have 2 new players on defence, one of whom is getting burned on every play. OZ just isnt putting the right scheme in. If you trade Petke or Jolley you can bet they will be playing 100% better for that other team Oz is the one that really needs to go.

That would be tragic. He has contributed so much to the team this year.

Absolutely. And, I thought Petke played much better last night. I don't know if it's because he was back on the Island or what. Hopefully, he's turning it around.

Also if we get Tab, Brad, and Clint back we might have a bit more midfield possession, which was sorely lacking the the first half last night. I would say not to trade for anyone too old (Costacurta, Walker, etc.). I don't know about Sforza, but if we do still need central defensive help an interesting offseason consideration would be Berhalter.

    Our defense is bad enough!

Bruce Arena started Frankie Hejduk, a right footed player, as leftback ahead of David Regis...that's how much confidence he had in Regis. I don't think I've ever seen Regis make one positive contribution to the US nats.
Let's sign a NYC doorman cheap, save some cap room and the international spot, and forget we even mentioned Regis.

Is that why he wore the captain's armband? The Island connection? Never occurred to me -- and he did look a lot sharper, a lot more determined.

I wonder how these guys feel when Alvarez is in the starting lineup. Like actors in a Greek tragedy,
knowing it's all bound to end badly? Just no chance; no way out.

If we need a foreign defender, Sforza should be the player.

I wonder the same thing - and how do you think they feel when they look up and see Klinger standing on the sidelines ready to come in? Jeez!

Why sign an SI.... I as much as the next guy want a great veteran to take the pitch in our colours..however why go out and get a quick fix player and have to drop a SI , all for nothing. Who ever we sign will probably only play this season and hopefully next....so why drop Williams, Diallo or Faria for some guy who isn't going to last that long.

Faria is actually someone who came through our ranks and for all of his missed shots and f-up's, you can't knock his hustle and determination. Faria needs to stay with us for another year or so. Diallo is the only reason we are at the top of the division, so trading him would be just stupid. Hate him if you want, but since he put our jersey on, he's been nothing short of great. Then you have Williams, who is looking a diamond out there , game in and game out. Williams should be our midfield engine for years to come, so his departure would be just as uneducated as sending the other two away.

Regis may not be the greatest but at least he can come here on a free transfer....his wages with Metz were actually on the same level as MLS and obviously his addiotion to our club would not count against our SI's. I'd say go hard after Berhalter, but you can tell his heart is with playing football in Europe.

I want to state this again. I would rather keep the team as is.

However, if Nick and Oz are going to get an international defender, I would rather get quality, over players who can't play in Serie D.

    Sforza would be that player.

Personaly, I would rather get someone like Tyson Nunez, and Rambo Leon. Those guys are great with Honduras.

If the Metros get Sforza, the Metros get a troublemaker. Sforza has in Germany in every team maked trouble. Sforza´s time is over to play good soccer. He look for a club where he graped up some big money for his old days. Greetings from Hamburg,Scooter (Sorry for my bad english)
