I was checking the league strenght in the 1st half of 80s, analyzing their results at European club competitions. and i've surprised with these results:
Premiership > Serie-A = Bundesliga = La Liga

I guess most people, tend to Rank Serie-A from 80s as the best league ever.
But apart from Juventus and Roma (in the 1st half) and in some seasons, the other clubs were a bit disappointed at euro level.

 

Even in the 2nd half of 80s, the italian clubs (overall) didn't dominating European competition.
Not a big gap, arguably equally competitive, than La Liga and Bundesliga.
Besides Premiership whom was banned in the 2nd-80s
