Senate Democrats threaten to block WC 2026 funding unless womens get equal pay

"The senators said that if the bill is enacted and the women's team is not given equal pay, funds provided to host cities, participating local and state organizations, the U.S. Soccer Federation, CONCACAF and FIFA will be blocked."

This equal pay situation is like a bad penny, it always turns up.

Its been to court, it's been adjudicated, discussed ad nauseum, and yet here we are. I would go on a soapbox about this is the exact reason why you keep government out of sports, but that's another story for another day. Question is how is this going to get resolved so it doesn't muck up, not only the best sporting event on the planet, but also the USMNT chances to actually be a major contender in this thing.
