Bonehead move by Carpenter. She gets the straight red and won't play against the USWNT for bronze. Stark raving bonkers. That's the game. Sweden are in the final.
Sweden-Canada in the Final. Conclusion, hot weather and high humidity is best handled by the gals from the cold north
Australia will miss Carpenter for the Bronze-medal game vs USA: *facepalm* was making that obvious RC foul really needed past the last minute of additional time? I am aware of the frustration, but...
The two teams with the best defences in the knockout rounds made the finals. No errors. Sweden were below par but really limited Australia’s opportunities.

I missed most of the first half, but the commentator said they had about 60% possession. That doesn't strike me as being disjoined. But, I will agree that the second half they were not fluid. I still thought it was pretty evenly matched in terms of ball control and movement until about the last 10 minutes, or maybe 15, when Australia started to get desperate. It's either some song or poetry. At least that's how Swedish sounds to me. btw, what as the reason Kerr's goal was called back? It doesn't look offside, and I haven't seen a good quality replay to see if there was a foul.
Yeah first half they looked ok, second half they didn't seem to work together at all. You have arguably the best striker in the world and spent 45 minutes hitting long to the players marking her and turning over the ball in midfield playing questionable possession.
There was a bit of discussion in the Referee forum about that play, too, but the discussion now mostly centers on the US-Canada call. I'm going to quote MassachusettsRef here without tagging him, so he doesn't get dragged into this forum. But, it was insightful as I didn't even know about this particular referee instruction. But, if you want to know more, I'm sure they'll help you out over in that forum:
I did realize it instead. It doesn't make it any less bad. Well, let's hope she saved the aim for the final.
The angles mattypark highlight how terrible that sitter was. Hopefully, Stina will practice shooting in front of an empty net before the final.
