NEWS: Quakes part ways with goalkeeper coach Tim Hanley The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has parted ways with goalkeeper coach Tim Hanley. The Quakes will not immediately name his replacement on the coaching staff. “I would like to thank Tim for all of his contributions to the club,” said Earthquakes general manager Jesse Fioranelli. “He has been an important piece of San Jose’s coaching staff for many seasons and we wish him nothing but the best in the future.” Hanley, 57, served as the Quakes’ goalkeeper coach for 11 seasons, including each of the last three.
No chance, he’s not Euro. Besides, that would be a lot of travel, and I thought Joe is running a youth club now?
I’m sad that Justin Meram wants out of the Crew and that Portland is trying to get him. Wouldn’t he Fill a big hole for the Quakes?
If by "big hole" you mean a small army of attacking mids, sure he could "fill" that . A good player but too similar to Vako and Magnus and Hyka, etc. I mean he might be better than some of those guys, but it's not like he'd be filling a void at attacking mid.
For the Crew he's a winger, but for Iraq he's more of a central playmaker (that #10 type role is Higuain in Columbus)... I would love to add Meram... can we send them back the rights to Lenhart?
Meram is not a practical signing at this point. From what ive seen they are asking for $1 million in GAM/TAM from Portland, who offered $500k. Hes a big money signing basically if not quite a DP, which is a window that probably closed for us when we signed Ericsson.
If you played Wondo, Hoesen, Magnus, Vako, Flo, Godoy, Qwiberg, Cummings, Quintana, Lima, Tarbell, you'd have: 3 Americans, 2 Central Americans 1 South American 4 Europeans 1 Qwiberg... Swede or Colombian? (Love his name)
