I think at this point they are playing for penalties. They do have a really good keeper so they'd have a shot if it went to spot kicks. But, ugh... 10 more minutes. It seems like this second period of extra time has gone on for an hour and it's only been 5 minutes!!
I think the altitude and air quality have taken a toll on PRI. I don't think any of them want to be running back and forth over 100+ yards right now. They seem content with sticking their their 1/2.
This will be very dangerous for the Islanders if they stay with 10 until the end. That player looked like he can't continue, and they have no more subs.
Where the hell do they get 5 minutes of injury time??? The injury only took up like 3! And I don't know about some of these offside calls against the Islanders...
There was that other injury where the cart came on (the player with the cramps). That was about 90 seconds.
I feel like Gaudette will come up with at least one big save in the PKs, but can the Islander's shooters keep their composure and score enough to make it matter?
That injury to Gaudette could be huge. How well is he going to be able to dive and jump off of that knee?
the Islanders were pathetic. from the first minute of the game they defend and not create a single chance on goal in the whole first half. Cruz Azul with 10 men for most of the match plus extra time. I don't like them much but Cruz Azul deserved it.
Well, Cruz Azul are through, and another Mexican final. I wish the Sounders didn't have to wait until August 2010 to enter this competition. (I know full well I could get neg rep for that one ).
