In light of Kasey Keller resigning for a third (and final) season, and with the rumors surrounding Marcus Hahnemann's possible return to MLS, I thought it would be fun to list all the starting goalkeepers plus backups throughout the history of the Seattle Sounders. Feel free to make corrections. Who remembers all these guys? My in-person experience only goes back to 1997, but I remember seeing Jack Brand and Paul Hammond on TV as a kid, and Marcus Hahnemann on TV during the A-League finals. I might have seen a game or two on TV with Mike Ivanow in 1979, but I don't remember him. I do. Barry Watling was solid and so was Tony Chursky. Mike Ivanow was a COW and Jack Brand had been around MLS in a few other cities first. Hammond and Corrigan were during the fall of the original Sounders and were not too memorable.
I remember the 1982 final. A friend of my dad's had cable and would tape games for us or we'd go over his house to watch them.
I remember all the primary keepers from 94 on. I was to young to really recall the the NASL days. I remember going to a couple NASL Sounder matches, but could not tell you anything about them. I went to 2-3 matches each in 94 and 95. Then due to life circumstances really did not make anything again until 06, though I followed the club on the web as best as possible.
