won by an innings & 498 runs, bowled them out fairly quickly this morning.

want to be full strength for next round, play the best team in my FC league.

I barely survived my match with the worst team in the series. Part of the problem is that slow pitches are actually batter-friendly, in my universal experience, and the weather was sunny all three days. As a result, Signal Iduna stayed in far longer than they had any right to do, and I scored the winning runs on the third-to-last ball of the match.

(It would have been better if I'd declared at 361 instead of 370. It wouldn't have been as near a thing if I'd declared lower in the first innings, overs-wise, but I would have put myself in danger of being bowled out, and as it turns out I got the maximum points in the win and now have first in my series by a tiebreaker.)

won easily by 191 runs against a new team but the owner has played before. was able to rest the 2 FM trainees, and only had to bowl 20 overs.

supporters confidence is now OTM, play what should be a really good FC team next round @ my home BUT his players PFL is shot, so i am going full strength to consolidate my lead in the league.

    Wild 7-0-36-0
    London* 64 (64 balls)

The big killer for PFL is bowling in FC. You absolutely need to have extra bowlers to be able to rotate guys in FC and OD play. I've been able to duck some of the problems, but I'm still hurt by having two of my bowlers continuing to train, so they get an additional PFL hit every Monday. Plus, they're all-arounders...

I was planning to train a specialist bat before too long, but I think I also need to add a specialist bowler as well.

yeah, bats seem to be ok with PFL. bowlers take hits. i think i should be ok with playing my trainee in ODers only and a select few FC matches and my other gun playing in all (now that I'm out of the cup). that being said I make sure to change the orders around if the other squad is down a lot of wickets so my good bowlers don't get ALL the overs. it sucks though when your captain disregards the orders and bowls them for like 9 over spells when the max was set at 4.

got bowled out for 302, best bat failed (4) so am hoping he will fire 2nd innings.

they are 3-71 @ stumps, set spinners to top priority tomorrow, they fired when they came on after the openers today.

At 324-2, we're well on our way to besting MAIDSTONE's previous high first innings concession, and there's even a chance of being the first side to declare on them. Sarge has gone for 166.

We've shattered the previous high for an innings's concession by MAIDSTONE (347 all out by Peters Utd), and are within a few overs of being the first side to declare in the first innings (Peters declared in the second innings a few matches back to go for the win). MAIDSTONE should get about twelve overs of batting in today, and the batting (and bowling) tomorrow will go a long way to determining whether Norse wins the match, or it's a draw.

question, is the number you put in for the 2nd innings declaration the number of runs you want to score in your second innings or is it the lead you want to have before you declare?

It's the number of runs in the second innings. (That's something that ought to be in the help somewhere.)

    a great first session!

End of Over 22 (2 runs). Cook County Cricket Club: 75-0, runrate=3.41 (1st Inn: 328-10)
Lead by 306 runs. (Itsy Bitsy Spiders 97-10)
    Davison 2-0-11-0
    Harris* 24 (63 balls)
    Conroy 41 (71 balls)

and to top it off, the receipts from today took me over 1 million pounds. I really need to get to 1.6 million so I can get the 80,000 in interest every week.

So far, my bowlers have ripped through the MAIDSTONE order, although there's been a little bit of a hitch in the last couple of overs before lunch. We're still on a comfortable pace to bowl them out early and enforce the follow-on, which would be a first for my side.

i didn't want to enforce the follow on in a bid to extend this to a 3rd day. I'm cruising to my declaration target....

End of Over 40 (10 runs). Cook County Cricket Club: 166-0, runrate=4.15 (1st Inn: 328-10)
Lead by 397 runs. (Itsy Bitsy Spiders 97-10)
    Bonner 11-0-61-0
    Harris* 53 (122 balls)
    Conroy 90 (121 balls)

just lost my first wicket in the next over, but here's hoping Mapie and Conroy can take it the rest of the way
