Gotham with an important win. Taylor Smith looks like a great addition for them. Hard to understand why Courage let her go. She was very dangerous yesterday with tremendous pace. She scored the game winner too.
Yeah they made a big mistake letting her go. Oh well, at least she went to a team that appreciates her.
I was at the CRS-NC game and what an emotional roller coaster! I was resigned to the fact that CRS was gonna lose - just one of those nights. NC was winning 2-0 at 90th minute then CRS scores in 91st and 95th minute! 2-2 tie. They refuse to lose! We were a bit lucky the whistle did not blow before our second goal - phew! What grit CRS showed. The fans went crazy! Great atmosphere at the end of the game.
Seems like there have been LOTS of games this season (i.e. moreso than usual) being decided after the 90th minute. I'm curious if it's just an odd quirk this year or if there's an underlying reason for why this year is prone to late-game dramatics.
Here are where the teams at in standings. San Diego still a surprise as a new team. Lets see how far they can go as the season concludes and playoffs. https://www.nwslsoccer.com/standings
You were mostly lucky the foul by Morse on Baucom inside the penalty area at about 2:25 into 3 minutes of stoppage time was not called. Once again the Refs blow it.
SD looks almost certain to be a top-three team come playoffs time. But not the only surprise! While three of the top four are still "the usuals" (CHI, POR, RGN,) the other three in the top six are either HOU or the Cali teams. NJY, NC, and DC are all languishing. Definitely not the season most of us expected!
