The first step on the road to Hampden was today, only two games survived the cold though.

    East Fife 3-0 Whitehill Welfare
    Inverurie Locos 1-2 Keith

It was a reasonable performance today against, admitedley, poor opposition. A Johnny Mitchell hat trick on his return from injury was encouraging to see too. At the end we were guilty of at bit of show-boating, which was too much for some Whitehill players, one took a swipe at Brian Fairbairn for trying one too many stepovers and two of their defenders had to be seperated and looked like they wanted to kill each other. Must be rough in the East of Scotland League.:D

On anther note, East Fife kept up their proud record of being one of only two league teams never to have lost a Scottish Cup tie to a non-league side. In our our 101 year history (even as a non-league side) we have never been knocked out the Cup by a non-league side. A pretty good acheivement when you consider the other team is Gretna, who have only been in Scottish football for 3 years and are yet to play a non-league side.

    :)

Tuesday night for Morton v East Stirling now. I love the cup, can't wait for us to get started, hopefully we can get a good cup run this season.

We played Vale of Leithen from the EoS league last season, they we abysmal. We only won 4-0, it should've been double figures. That was actually our last good performance of last season, and it was in December!

Aye, it'll be interesting to see how the Shire get on at Cappielow. They're a lot better than they were 2 years ago, still pish mind you but better.

Whitehill were awful but we're not great at the moment, a better team could have given them a real walloping, like Gretna.

Still, I hope that's given us a bit of confidence cos we've got Gretna in the league on Saturday.:(

Morton beat ES 3-1. Piss poor performance against a terrible ES side. They actually took the lead after 10 minutes! They we much more up for it than we were. I think the players just thought they could turn up and walk to a huge win.

    Brechin beat Glasgow Uni 3-0.

I thought the Shire might have been onto something there. Still, they're a stuffier side and not the pushovers they once were, a half decent result for them.

Cove vs. Dalbeattie was a 4-1 win, not 3-0.

They go on to face Morton at home in the next round.
