Arias has more assists than Zúñiga

Fabra was sub during a lot of time in this wcq below farid Díaz and even armero and balanta were selected over him. just started only 8 games in wcq and only started three matches of copa America.

Farid Diaz played 8 matches just in wcq

Chunga started at Junior (is Viera injured? he was among the subs) and Alvaro Montero started again for Tolima. What are your guys thoughts about them.

I loved Montero back at the sub 20 but have not seen him play much since.

Glad he is getting playing time for Tolima. outside of Arboleda I think he has a chance to be the #2 in the future,
But what does this have to do with the scoring situation? :p

He got confused probably. But since he got confused here, I'd like to add another goalkeeper to crzd's list. Arled Cadavid from Leones. Really like him, good reflexes, very tall (around 6'4) and still Young for a goalkeeper (27). I can see him playing in one of the Big 5 very soon.

Montero is doing OK in Tolima. Still sucks at serial balls despite being 6'5 though.

Chunga didn't have a lot to do against Leones. They got a player expelled with more than 60 minutes to play so they defended the tie with tooth and nail. Still Cadavid's MOTM performance wasn't enough to keep the score.

Posted in the wrong thread obviously :)

My #1 obsession from here till the WC are goalies I am fine with every other position. With all the players Pekerman has called. I accepted that it will be new process after the WC for strikers and MFs.

But Camilo vargas should not be on the NT he is fking garbage!!! Cuadrado is super flaky and Castellanos at 33 still isn’t a clear starter.

GKs need to be what we all pray for from
Now till the WC. We all saw how important they are after Ospina gave up 4 easy goals(Paraguay, Peru and France)

Chunga played because this week Junior will play against Boca in libertadores.

Castellanos in absolute starter the times that Zapata starts is because an injury.....yeah he is a little injury prone for beign a goalie.

Vargas in Cali is having a good season

@Baal88 yeah that guy cadavid is really good....

Cuadrado debuted just a few months ago in the NT. And a GK has a longer career than the rest of positions. If he is bought by a bigger team he'll get the experience he needs to be in the NT.

I just Hope that the prospects I've seen start getting quality time in the Next 2 to 3 years, otherwise things are going to get tough for us.

im going to sound like crzd now but.... doesn't seem like we having any candidates to replace Ospina anytime soon. All those guys mentioned could be ok as backups but are they going to be challenging for the number one spot?

27 for a goalkeeper is still young. True, real talent will show up a lot earlier (Ospina, De Gea, Donaruma just to mention a few became bona fide starters since they were teenagers), but keepers' best years are between 30 and 36 and the good ones can last until they're 40.

In that sense, Ospina will still be our number one for 2022 and a guy in their 20s could be our starter for 2026. For me the main issue is to have a reliable backup for when David is injured or completely out of form, and although I like Cuadrado, neither he or Vargas are good enough for more than an emergency.

So what is our issue we aren’t tall or aren’t getting chances?

Only mention the height thing because the EPL douches with Ospina. 6 foot seems plenty big

Chances well a lot of teams in our league are using Colombians now. That’s a plus but none of you ever mention other goalies which is kind of depressing

My other issue is we have decent goalies but seems like 1-3 team raid them

Santa Fe has Castellanos and Robinson Zapata for 3 years now both can start on most teams

Nacional had Armani and Camilo Vargas. Their 3rd string goalie was Neko
Martinez who was NT capped and scored a goal. Bonilla who was a starter at Boyacá and Equidad. And the other Vargas who was a starter at Aguilar

Is it an ambition thing? Or that small teams are late to pay wages. Why would someone go to be 3rd string when they can be 1st string

True. I’m 5’11 and in most places I’m at least half head above 90% of people. I think for males the average height is 5’7 or 5’8” so you’re not going to get too many 6’2 or 6’4 guys anywhere. So having 3 keepers under 6’2” in the NT is expected.

It's true. The average height here is around 171 cm men and 160 cm in women. I'm often Asked if I play basketball and when I tell them that I'm 5 inches short they think I'm kidding. I'm 187 cm.

Two of my sisters are 5’9 and usually the tallest people in the room. I mean I had a bunch of friends that played basketball and American football in college and they were freakishly tall. I am 6’3 and a lot of places are too small for me. Doorways are evil as are basements.

My friends who are single bitch about dating sites in the US becauae girls think 80% of men are 6’2+

The average height translates to 5’7” and 5’3”. And you’re a tall dude at 6’2”. I used to play basketball in Colombia and while you see a lot of 6’4” to 6’8” guys, 5’11-6’ is what seems to be the average for most teams.
