    Yeah talk about Deschamps being defensive, it amazes me how this guy insists on shackling a team flowing with attacking talent.

    Southgate was himself a CB in a back five during his Aston Villa days. I think ever since England beat Spain 3-2 away in the NL, he's felt justified in this approach. He had Dier playing in the midfield that game pressing Spain's defense.

    I'm get flashbacks of how Greece played under Rehhagel when I watch England. The only difference is England has Kane and Saka, whereas Greece had Charisteas and Stelios.

    @CybrSlydr

    Is that an El Casa del Pape reference?

    Been noticing references to a lot of Spanish shows here lately. Not that I care, but I wanted to segue to how I wish we had an English version of El Chiringuito de Jugones.

    You're only a rapist if the name sounds rapey. Goodwillie, Greenwood... rapists. Cristiano is ok. Partey... kind of a rapey.

    It's a good thing my name is Faki Fackalopousis. With a name like that, you just know I treat the ladies right.

    I haven't paid attention but is Barca destined to end up in Europa? And if so what does this mean for all the lovers that they have pulled?

    Who cares? I'm sure they have plenty of other levers to magically appear.

    they are currently in third but 3 pts behind second. if they lose to Inter again that should be it.

    the levers are irrelevant. they already got caught with shady accounting to try to maintain a facade of being financially sound.

    one season in UEL shouldn't chnage much. several seasons out of the UCL or Europe entirely would diminish the already flimsy value of the rights levers further i'd imagine.

    lots of people keep saying the government bailed them out (lazy) but that is patently false. it was Goldman Sachs and this is very public info. i don't know that second time round they'd be as fortunate

    Barca would still be my favorites to finish second. I'm not sure they can go further than L16. Depends who they get.
