For anyone who like me was wondering if they had stumbled into the wrong forum, is a ref to DCL schoolgirl pic on cover of mag. Though the coronavirus shoes in the right-hand pic probably need some explanation too :)

is there some story behind this if it is real? is this just his personal thing? or this is the norm in the UK?

At least will put to bed those ridiculous rumors about Southgate being United's next manager...

Shame for England though: will never reach their full potential while he's at the helm either.

Maybe not. He denies the offensive side of the game the room to breathe and a proper attack system but he has made semi-final and final of major tournaments. We all know how much are involved in these so a lucky strike or two and you have world cup champions.

Southgate went to a semi final, then all the way to a final of a major tournament. And while those are worthwhile accomplishments, it still can be easily argued that it came on the back of luck. Luck he ultimately was unable to capitalize on and have a chance at becoming world champion or be European Champion in their own backyard.
He's an ok coach but he's certainly not what United should be looking or aiming for. Not even close as a matter of fact.

Smart on his part. Can probably assume that Dean Smith is the favorite now for that job.

Dani Alves showed in the Olympics that he's still got some juice left (at 38yrs old). European football and La Liga is a different animal though.
No doubt will have some knowledge and experience he can pass down. As a de facto assistant coach/player, then why not? Not like Xavi can not use all the help he can get after all.

Well they could be parroting the United model which means they will knock us out of the Europa league at some point.

Apparently he just really likes artsy clothes and attends fashion events, he takes a lot of stick for wearing some outlandish stuff but doesnt give a f**k and says he doesnt judge others.

Not my thing at all, but gotta admire his stones - whatever attire he chooses to cover them with :)

Not exactly sure what guys like Jorginho (or Bruno before) were thinking when they changed their Pk taking style, especially when it ends up in a miss. Understand perhaps the need to change/mix things up. But a spot kick in the 89th min, which would have given Italy the lead, not sure that what the time to go away from what has worked so well for him either...

Berhalter had already announced yesterday that Pulisic would not be starting. Will need Aaronson probably more than anyone else to step and provide the creativity that will be needed upfront.
Looking for a big game from the Answer/Pepi against the team/nation he chose to snub. No complaints with this team really: considering the guys who are out/not starting, this is pretty as good as it gets.
Fingers crossed Pulisic will be able to come on later, if needed.

Pulisic to the rescue: great cross from Weah, 1-0.

    McKennie, dos a zero!

Weah was good. Also thought Adams did a very tidy job in the middle except for that one sloppy pass.

Huge win, with lots of good performances: Steffen, A. Robinson, Zimmerman, Musah, McKennie, Weah (my MOTM) and Pulisic were the standouts.
Great position to be in at the halfway point, but there's still lots of work to get done. Just need to keep grinding and pushing all the way to Qatar.

Sidenote, Canada is not going anywhere (after a gritty win vs CR). Based on what they've shown so far during this campaign, wouldn't surprise me one bit if they finish in the Top 2 when it's all said and done. Good team they've got there and they're fighters too.

Is at the top three that advances automatically and the fourth place team gets a playoff?

PS ****ing Jamaica.... I am so upset. They should be qualifying for this world cup.

I wasn't arguing for him at United, just that England may win a world cup or Euro just yet.

Adams is the straw that stirs the drink. If he is not there, it changes everything.

They still got a chance at 4th. Panama Almost feel yesterday. They just need to win their games against the teams Panama on down.

I don't think they are playing like a team that will capitalize on getting a chance at 4th. Hope they turn it up though and finish strong

The way Benz has come back, at 33, after his long exile and is banging in goals for France for fun is absolutely mental.
His goal tally for them would probably have been insane, considering the talent around him and the fact that he was in his prime then.

Serbia snatch a vital go ahead goal in Portugal, which would send them automatically to the WC if they can hold on. Deserved to be honest: Portugal went ahead early but since Tadic got them the equalizer, Serbia has been on the front foot. Portugal as is customary under Santos, are just way too cautious.
Portugal just need a point from this game though so this is not over: 4mins of added time...
It is now: Serbia are through, while Portugal will have to go to the playoffs.
