    Looks like GoodDead's Brazilian cousin has been called to the Braga squad ;) (taken from A Bola, 9/24/05):

    Rodrigo Dantas nos convocados do Sp. Braga

    O jovem avançado brasileiro Rodrigo Dantas, que integra o plantel da equipa B do Sporting de Braga, entra na convocatória da equipa principal para o jogo deste domingo na Amadora, ante o Estrela.

    Privado dos contributos dos avançados Delibasic, Cesinha e João Tomás (todos devido a lesão), o técnico Jesualdo Ferreira concedeu oportunidade ao antigo avançado do Caldas, equipa da II Divisão B onde Rodrigo Dantas marcou 18 golos na época passada.

    Em relação à partida da semana transacta (empate ante o FC Porto) o guarda-redes Eduardo e o médio Vandinho também não entram nos planos do técnico dos bracarenses, que, assim, promoveu os regressos de Marco, Pedro Costa, Castanheira e Davide – alargou, desta feita, a convocatória para 20 jogadores).

    Eis a lista de convocados:

    Guarda-redes: Paulo Santos e Marco;

    Defesas: Abel, Pedro Costa, Nunes, Nem, Paulo Jorge e Jorge Luíz;

    Médios: Hugo Leal, Filipe, Sidney, Madrid, Castanheira, Jaime, Rossato, Cândido Costa, Davide e Luís Filipe;

    Avançados: Maxi e Rodrigo Dantas.

    Worthless, we got no strikers. My cousin couldn't score vs Amadora, atleast we still got a shutout going.

    But what the hell are we gonna do vs Red Star? play for shoot outs?

    Better luck for the UEFA matches for all the Portuguese teams than those at the CL.

    That sure was a dark week for Portuguese soccer in European competitions. Except for Guimaraes ,of course.
    Today's game is not going to be easy. The team needs to win to keep up w/ the front runners.

    Well we completely owned Red Star at home. Their goalie was Phenomenal to say the least. They got a fluke goal to bounce off the ground and go high enough to pass Paulo Santos for an early lead after that it was an all out Braga attack that should of seen maybe 4 goals but instead only 1 found the back of the net. This series was lost purely on the fact that our 3 starting strikers as well as our #1 B team option was not available for the game. Maxi was horrible missed an empty net on a header and like I said it was up to our D and midfield to get the scoring chances.

    Too bad second year in a row where we our better then the opposition but can't find the luck to progress. We are still unbeaten though and hopefully will qualify for the CL next year.

    I didnt see that game. It's good to know that w/ a bit of more luck things would have gone right for Braga.

    "Maxi" Bevaqua sucks, I would put my cousin in because he has scored way more goals in preseason and I think Maxi just put 1 in durring a 6-0 game.

    Yeah, he's like 95 minutes away from breaking a record that has stood since the 1980/81. Ironic, Manuel Bento actually coached Santos when he was Benfica’s third choice goalkeeper in the 90's.

    Tough game to do it in. Rio Ave is a good side. A shut out with them would ensure Paulo beats the record barring a goal within the first 6 minutes vs Boavista.

    The thing about a streak like this is that it is a double edged sword. On the one hand the Defense is full of confidence and the entire team hungers to live up to it's defensive responsibilities both for the team as a whole and for the sake of Paulo's record breaking run. On the other hand once one ball goes in it will deflate the team and defense will not be as important as it is right now.

    Hopefully he get's passed Rio Ave and the team will only sweat out the remainning time vs Boavista then even when that first one goes in they will still feel satisfied that they broke a record.

    Good to be on top, better that it's early and we can learn to handle it and want it through out the season.

    Bring on Boavista battle of the Unbeaten next week (unless BFC loses Monday). Unlike last year, I'm worried about Boavista because Jamie "sure win for SCB" Pacheco is no longer their coach.

    Just got hold of the VHS recording of last weekends game. That last minute scoring was something else. Braga looks solid. Two autogoals ,one for each team, what are the chances of that ? Paulo Santos still hasn't been scored on by an opponent player in the league yet, but nevertheless, didn't break Bento's record.
