I don't know a thing about college soccer, but went to my first one today. Stony Brook just got promoted to the first division about a year ago or something. I was surprised that the quality was pretty decent. Stony Brook lost to Holy Cross 2-1 in overtime. There were just too many defensive errors by Stony Brook. The mascot was just plain corny. But at least I got to see them score their first goal this year.

Stony Brook has a lot of new players this year (something like 17), so I hope they get better as the season progresses. They got beaten pretty good their first two games (5-0, 3-0), so they've got a long way to go, but they were 13 seconds away from getting a tie with Holy Cross, which I think had tied Duke.

I think this is either their 3rd or 4th season in Div.I.
