Of course Press then gets down to the other end and makes the Japanese keeper look silly.

In case you haven't been noticing, Press is in the best form of her life this past year or so.

Yep. She has well moved off my "under performer" list. She used to miss so much over the top but now she seems to have dialed her sights in.

I have the feeling her practice routines have changed and she is now practicing the idea of "Perfect practice makes perfect " instead of just "practice makes perfect."

Another game where the opponent is getting more of the ball so far, but have not been a threat, unlike Spain.

I admire the technical skills of Japan. It is fascinating to watch.

Maybe I spoke too soon. Also we look to be getting pulled out of shape a bit on defense, and I still hate how we defend corners.

The US has slowed WAY down. It might hurt them because Japan has started playing faster.

IDK why people think Rapinoe is so good at corners? THey all come in knee high

Interesting calling it right at 45' when there had to be some injury time with Horan.

In many cases do we actually defend corners or are we defending blades of grass? I think any form of zone on a corner is just asking the other team to score if they simply miss the bodies we have standing around.

Sad, Japan used to be so good and now they are lucky if they are a top 10 team now.

He's the most annoying soccer announcer ever! Can't stand when he calls a game.

Yeah, one would think they'll almost certainly drop out of the Top 10 after what's going to be 3 losses now (currently down 0-2 to USA at halftime) in the SBC.

Sadly, they don't look threatening at all and look worse than they did over the past few years at the start of their rebuilding.

I could have done without that goal being scored.

All the positive spin in the world will not make that Japanese goal any more than primarily poor defending. Also I think Ertz is a bit hurt. She should be subbed.

The momentum has definitely shifted...Japan looking much more dangerous now. Lloyd and Lavelle coming in though, so hopefully that turns the tide back in our direction.
