Former U.S. men’s national team coach Dave Sarachan has a new challenge – as Puerto Rican national coach.
Sarachan will take over the reins in time for the Caribbean side’s quest in World Cup qualifying.
Puerto Rico will kick off its first-round qualifying run in Concacaf Group F March 24 against Saint Kitts and Nevis. It’s group includes Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana and Bahamas.

It's an interesting move for PR. Sarachan is a decent coach and he's bringing Daryl Shore with him. If they can recapture some of the magic they had with the Chicago Fire, that would be grand. It's disappointing that the hire wasn't made a couple of months ago so that the team would have had two friendlies to get used to the new coach, and he them.

I'm wondering why Zarek Valentín isn't in camp. I assume it's because he's starting his season with Houston Dynamo soon, but he's one of the more experienced players, so it would be good to have him.
