Hi guys, I heard Costa Rican team Saprissa will be in Switzerland this July, they'll be playin' in Thun... Well anyway does anyone have any information on this? Does anyone know what day they'll be playing in Thun??? Thanx a lot buddies,
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Interesting...I can't find anything on the Thun website yet. A friendly against the CONCACAF champion would definitely be a good preparation for the Dynamo Kiev series. I see you are a tico abroad in SUI. How familiar are you with Swiss footie?
Re: Saprissa in Europe... You don't usually do European trips like this, do you? Is this Vergara's way of getting the team ready for the Club World Championship?
Re: Saprissa in Europe... No, this is the 3rd or 4th time that Saprissa goes to Europe, first of this 2000 century, they were supposed to do it last year, but it was cancelled, but this year they'll go to Europe to play to 4-team short tournaments, one in Switz and the other in GER And it's rumored that we could play Bayern Munchen. check www.saprissa.co.cr sometimes, you'll find cool stuff there, check our forum too I heard that the WerderB and Saprissa game might be televised in Germany.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... I usually do, found this on there: http://www.saprissa.co.cr/boletines/boletin40.htm The Thun website lists the tournament with the following teams: FC Thun, Hertha BSC Berlin, Sparta Prague, Ferencvaros Budapest No Saprissa... (?) As a sidenote, Thun just tied OGC Nice (2:2) in a friendly in France in front of 12K spectators.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... A good result for Thun in front of a suprisingly large crowd in Nice. I think that Saprissa would be a very intersting friendly for Thun. It would not draw well as a stand alone match, but in a little tournament it could do well.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... mmm...is it that they replaced Saprissa with Ferencvaros Budapest? I hope not!
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Sorry, but it looks like Saprissa was indeed replaced by Ferencvaros... (I only have German links)
Re: Saprissa in Europe... I doesn't matter swiss, i can see the pictures...jejej, dont laugh! i know a few words anyway...
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Fine. Thun Website (www.fcthun.ch) Hertha Website - Friendly Schedule: http://www.herthabsc.de/index.php?id=202
Re: Saprissa in Europe... thanX grasshopper!, always on time!, I gotta inform my buddies from the Saprissa forum! Let me know if you find anything related to Saprissa in Europe You'll be repped as soon a spread some reputation around.....
Re: Saprissa in Europe... No prob. It's a pity though...that would have been an interesting friendly.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Thanx for all the comments guys. Well I'm not a very big soccer fan, but I do know some names of Swiss teams like Grasshopper, Xamax, Servette (do they still exist?), FC Sion, Basel,... By the way I now have the Swiss nationality so I'm Tico-Suizo. Thought it would be cool to see Saprissa if they came, but it'll be kinda hard now that I'm working at the Montreux Jazz Festival during the night. We'll first have to see if the come to Switz. Saludos
Re: Saprissa in Europe... I see, a Suico. Yes, Servette is still around (although down in the 3rd level.) Montreux...great place. Where do you live? PS: you should catch the national team vs. Israel or France this fall.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Yeah, I'm a Suico I live in downtown Lausanne... I see you live in Dubai, are you Swiss?
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Sure am. Born in Zurich and grew up in the area. I also have some latino in me (Colombian mother) and yes, I do speak Spanish.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... I always wanted to know, swiss, what are you doing there in Dubai? Working?
Re: Saprissa in Europe... Not yet, but hopefully soon (fingers crossed.) My family moved to Dubai so it was only natural for me to come here as well after my graduation from Texas State.
Saprissa To Europe Since every1 speaks spanish ill just post this , dont feel like translateingit , some1 else can El deportivo Saprissa viaja esta mañana a Europa para disputar al menos dos cuadrangulares como parte de su etapa de pretemporada. Re: Saprissa in Europe... Although I do not speak Spanish, my french helped me to understand a little of the article.
Re: Saprissa in Europe... From Saprissa's offcial page july 6th Saprissa arrives to Thunn city July 8th They are supposed to play the Goldschlussel Cup with Hertha Berlín (GER), Sparta Prague(CZR) and FC Thun(SWI) July 12th They might playl FC Schaffhausen (SWI) July 15th they'll move to Frankfurt (GER) and they are supposed to play the Baderland Cup with: Sp Vgg Greuther Furt (GER), el Dinamo Zagreb(CRO) and TSV Grobardorf (GER) July 18th Either WerderBremen or Bayern Munich (not confirmed yet)
Re: Saprissa To Europe Well...I can read Spanish but don't ask me to write it. It basically says that Saprissa will indeed participate in the Schruns tournament (the Hertha site now confirms it as well.) Saprissa will also play FC Schaffhausen in a friendly. I guess I should say a little something about Saprissa's opposition: FC Thun is a small team (no titles in its history) who had an amazing run last season and made it to second place. Their glory seems to be short-lived however as they lost many key players in the offseason. On a more positive note, their tiny stadium has one of the nicest sceneries in Europe. Thun is a small city at the foot of the alps next to a beautiful lake: As for Schaffhausen - last season was their first one in the top league in over 50 years. They are prime candidates for relegation next season as they barely avoided the drop in their first year back up. Anyway, hope the Morados enjoy their trip. How many players will be missing due to the Gold Cup?
Re: Saprissa in Europe... http://www.saprissa.co.cr/article_488.htm that was my feed Swiss let me know if you find something extra about it pls! German question, what does schlussel mean?
Re: Saprissa To Europe 5 players Porras, Badilla, Cordero, Bolanos and Lopez, most of them are defensive players
