I think the minute you have the ligamx merger those teams will start to appear in Libertadores again...

And with ratings and ad money you'll start to see more interest in play too.

It's a fundamental game changer, but who knows when it will happen.

The more we shift from college to academy based scouting (which is also happening) similar to rest of world they will immediately be more competitive too.

I agree on the calendar and weather being an issue. But so long as the league starts generating ratings and ad revenue that will matter less too.

Weak debut for Santi in the derby with Seattle playing away. Came on as a sub and had several big opps to impact but just kept freezing up - squandered a chance to shoot at goal and had two breakaways fall apart on him.

Looked afraid of the contact as the game was pretty brutal. Hopefully will come into his game as he gets more used to the style of play.

Starting to get more involved in Portland. Started the last two games and played well.

He is still a touch hesitant and it's causing him to deliver a second late in some opps but you can see him growing into his role at RW there.

Santi has played himself into being a starter on the Timbers during their playoff run and he just scored the 2-0 in the semi to help them play for the MLS Cup!

Santi looks like he has put on like ten pounds of muscle and looks very sharp for Portland.

    Really impressed with him tonight.

that is such a messed up post haha

honestly the mls just need to keep raiding South America like Mexico does. Also raiding smaller euro leagues like Belgium.

stop going for older euro players and those wages can buy you 7-8 star U20 players in Latin America.

Seriously, Santi is in really good shape and very sharp. Should have had a couple of assists tonight and playing all over the pitch.

Yimmy has been collecting the attention on the back of a couple of great goals but Moreno is quietly delivering.
