Re: San Francisco Chronicle (Tuesday, 11/2/04) - some thoughts... This is what rang true for the lads, according to Dwight Chapin: For what it's worth, the best thing about this team since 2001 is that the players are willing to rally around each other through thick and thin. Even so, the ride was still far from perfect, especially with the callups and a post game drilling from Kinnear in July. If they wanted to bicker amongst themselves it could have sparked them to play better, but overall it would have been a dysfunctional team and the results would be for them to simply pack it in and quit. That would best explain why there are players on the Quakes who are willing to be professional and do their jobs or sit their turn and just tough it out instead of bitching and whining. Still, despite all that, they give it their all in 2004. Good thing since 2001 when they started to turn things around. The only thing here that the coaches cannot control is player moves and transfers. Everything else has been discussed through here and elsewhere. Cheers!
