i'm watching the Blake v. Hewitt match, and there is a boisterous, loud group of fans, decked out in red white and blue, standing after every point, singing in unison! hard to make most of it out, but I definitely heard "here we go, here we go, here we go...."

are these out of work sammers, or is this another after effect of the media blitz of WC 2002?

Don't forget Hewitt's from Australia, and their flag is also red, white and blue.

Australian athletic teams and supporters wear green and yellow though.

I Remember a while back there were some Chileans doing this same thing in Marcelo Rios matches :)

I was sitting with them, joining in the cheers, but without wearing a net on my head. They were definitely rooting for Blake. There were soccer fans among them, but no card-carrying Sammers, as far as I know.
