2-0 Juventus already 21 minutes in. Del Piero scored the first won a penalty for the 2nd which he let Trezeguet take. Cassano just pulls one back for Samp on great play beating 2 defenders. 2-1 Juventus

I wonder why the RAI International didn't show this match?

Its pretty much a meaningless game for both teams so I guess this is why. I just saw the highlights of the goals......nice assist by Cassano and an even nicer goal by Montella. Must be a real exciting match.

I wonder why Ranieri chose not to give Birindelli some minutes in his last match ever for Juve.

Good point. He was a great soldier and my best memory of him was the cross he supplied to Zalayeta for the winning goal at Barcelona. Best Wishes to him and his family in his future.

And the goal vs DEPORTIVO!!!!! To bad he didn't play. Thoughts on the match. Sissoko, hell last match of the season ya get a pass. J. Zebina, where have you been all my life, fantastic, deserved a penalty. Nedved, midfield general in Camo's absence. Referee, jack ass, how could you not tell that Zebina was brought down?

    SAMPDORIA

The fact that DP let Trez take the 1st penalty (which was on DP) was the act of a true gentleman, and a true team captain. That allowed Trez to move into a tie with DP at 20.

He was rewarded for his chivalry by getting an opportunity to sink #21, and made it good.

See you at the Euro, Ale:cool:

Contrast that to Materazzi and his act of selfishness last week in trying to be the hero for Inter. What was ignored because of his tomfoolery was that the penalty was not warranted at all against Materazzi. The Del Piero haters claim that he is a distraction to the NT. On what basis? His actions today prove once again how he puts the team first.

    Exactly.

Put it this way: how often does a person get a shot at capo? (In Ale's case:again).

Yet he put his team and team mate 1st. Again.

He's played brilliantly for Juve for 2 years---and for the Nazionale. His goal in WC 2006 against Germany was magic. A run the entire length of the pitch, not to be stopped.

There are many to step into his role at Juve (Buffon, then Chiellini, then Giovinco), and he may be getting his last international cap---although seeing him in South Africa in 2010 would be just fantastic, but you just can't realistically argue against his call up this year.

It is time for Italia to win the Euro. We're many, many years overdue. ADP can help us get there.

My best memory of him was how he totally locked down Figo in the second leg semi final against Real Madrid in 2003. That's one of the best defensive preformances I've ever seen. And one of the best games I've seen also. Those of you who don't have that on tape need to download it. It's a classic.

That's quite surprising. Usually they kill you for missing a penalty. He was excellent though.
