Weapons of Mass Destruction. They were there, we know they were there, they just had to be there, Rumsfield even told us where they were and they were capable of materializing and blowing the U.S. up in less than 45 minutes. Those WMD's were a real and imminent threat to our national security.
To be fair to Rumsfeld, it was the Britons who made the false 45 minutes claim. Rumsfeld only knew where the weapons were, not how long it would take to use them.
The Britons initiated, but the Bushies repeated the speculative and false assertion. And how many times did Bush invoke the visual of a mushroom cloud, in his threats to the American people? These are all lies. To be fair to Rumsfeld, Rumsfeld has ties to al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. And he is one correcting Cheney, who is only a bullet away from being president.
