Do we know how to get tickets? I am considering. Edit: I found the site. https://www.ticketmaster.com/us-ope...EFROM=CFC_SACREPUBLIC_FC_WEB_USOCPAGE_0525-SJ
For anyone mapping it, it's 1600 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento. Approximately 120 miles from PPP. For those who would rather not drive home at 10:30, there are three hotels on the Cal Expo grounds though there are better options in Sac.
120 miles from PPP and, what, 4-5 hours away during rush hour? Amtrak from SJ Diridon to Sac would be about 3 hours I think. If I was able to go, that's probably what I'd do. At $40 not much more expensive than driving. And stay over and take the train back.
$68 rt Diridon to Sacramento. The train station is in Old Sac, about 5 miles from Expo. I would totally go for that, but I seem to be the only train fan in the house.
Quakes have a busy couple of weeks coming up. That Sunday, Tuesday Wednesday is killer. Does SKC get our B team or does Sac? Our B team is our A team so it gets even trickier.
I think Covelo is going to stick with B team (which is A team) in USOC and A team (which is B team) in MLS games. For starting lineups anyway. Can’t burn out the guys who are doing double duty though so something has to be done about Marie and Remedi. We are getting caught out a bit with lack of depth at outside back. Maybe Salinas can go. And Judson would help a lot too for midfield, and can also play RB (I guess) - not a good spot for him but he can be serviceable.
The Quakes need to remember, there are no easy games. Even though the Sacto Repubic is a side from the USL-Championship, they will provide a solid opposition to the Quakes. Go Quakes!
I've got my tickets in 204. I assume those are bleachers. Does anyone who knows the stadium have any idea what the grey square is in 204? Away supporters?
Actually, my family was thinking of doing the train too, and staying over. Could be a fun road trip. Edit: BTW, where did you find that $68 return fare? Amtrak only offered me 2 one-way fares at $40 each.
It looks as though that fare applies only if you take the 6:48 am return, and that's not happening. Amtrak does offer special deals, though, so round trip for four people (16+, didn't try the kids' fares) is $200.
