We've already been getting submissions but things just became a little more urget...Marcin needs final designs in 2 weeks so we need whatever you all will be sending in to the scarf contest email (scarfcontest@section8chicago.com) by Sunday midnight at the latest. Voting will take place next week and alterations/prep for sending it to Poland will occur right after. These will be more designs in smaller runs (so you can be more unique and esoteric with your designs) and will be $20 each when they are sold.

please send gifs or jpgs at least 600 x 60 px if not more for each scarf side. Keep your original hi-res files in case we need them and yours is a winning design! If you aren't sure what that means...well our crack team of ripoff artists will cook something up :)

Send your submissions in to scarfcontest@section8chicago.com ASAP

Designs and poll are going up now. Some stiff competition this year as there are many unique and innovative designs. I've also put in some of the better also-rans from last year's contest to spice things up a bit.

    Link shortly.

The inital response on the dallas scarves (esp the Tino Palace one) is outdoing even my own expectations. huh.

    Good response overall so far.

I'm sorry, maybe it's because it's the end of the day, but what is the difference between Chicago Stars I and II? They and Chicago Stars III are the best, IMHO. Though the Tino Palace and Dallas ones are a laugh. Perhaps they could be combined for a 2nd scarf. The Hate Scarf?

I am not a big fan of chevrons. Posted for no other reason then the hope that others will be swayed to think likewise. ;)

The Tino Palace scarf has even attracted The hated One's attention. Hmm.

My personal opinion, which I know everyone is dying to hear  is that he isn't worth any attention let alone a hate scarf. But maybe that's just me.

Yeah, it is funny though. And like I said it was less about being Tino Palace hate than Dallas hate. He's just their journalist cabana boy/personificatory target. (Is personificatory a word???) Plus it's based off of this scarf which is reasonably famous as scarves go:

Wow. This is a pretty impressive ballot.

That Tino Palace scarf is fantastic, but isn't he going to be some other team's fan boy next year? I'm still voting for it.

I would guess nothing since they both carry the same code designation (#TU08). Probably just because Liam likes it so he put it up twice.

Tino has stuck with Dallas for two-ish years now I think. Doubt he'll be jumping ship, and especially not for us. He picked Dallas because at the time they were last in the league, and we were this season. Even if he jumped Dallas ship to become our cabana boy (not gonna happen) he'd still be subject to ridicule and anti-dallas sentiment.

Seeing the same top 3 as Monday but it tightens near the top and the pack is starting to break away from the rest. Lots of response on this, and am very pleased.

Current tally as of 12.00a Thursday. Polls close 11.59p Friday.

Same top 3 as before, #1 and #2 are neck and neck. people seem to prefer either the TU designs or the LM designs now...not a lot of mixing of votes.

FYI, it is likely one of the Fire logos on scarves w/o S8 designation (if they win) will be replaced with a S8 logo.

I dunno... one of the reasons I voted for the top two there was the symmetry. I really like the way these look... but they might be thrown off by the S8c logo.

That said, I do like the S8C logo... but I like the designs of those scarves (the top 2) as Fire scarves.

Don't underestimate the larger appeal of the "clean" scarf. I've got somewhere around 150 scarves in my collection, and the one I use in cold weather is a Torino scarf that my parents brought back from Italy. It's mostly gray with three sets of maroon/white/maroon/white/maroon hoops. On one end beyond the hoops it has a Torino crest sewn in, and just above the fringe on both ends other end it simply says "Torino" in white letters outlined in maroon. They also got me a similar "inter" scarf, but I'm not classy enough to wear a white scarf in bad weather - how could anyone possibly keep that clean.

Maybe it's something the team should offer, and not the supporters - but I think you'd find a fair number of folks who would wear an understated Fire scarf every day during the winter.
