http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/7000165.stm 21% now. Bought 0.6% yesterday and then bought a big stake yesterday. From who? Not Kroenke I think, because Kroenke holds 12%.
So, either another American businessman, or another Russian mob boss? I'd prefer neither. Although another team in American ownership would make my relationship with the Brits I work with even more enjoyable
So assuming he buys the 12% owned by Stan Kroenke, his total would be around 33% .. Is that enough to laucnh a takeover bid ? But would Kroenke sell ? He's another businessman who'd liek to make a good profit .. And he just bought his shares too .. And i heard he's buying for 10,000 GBP per share .. Is it correct ?!
Could someone please tell us from which party the Red & White group acquire 6% of Arsenal shares from? Should Kronke sell to the group then they would be obligated to mount a take over. At this stage it would like;y to be a hostile one.
Looking through the newsfeeds theres little feedback about the Russian's plan. Probably because no-one knows it, though that doesn't stop most of the papers... Only snippet I could see was on ANR with a quote from a 'friend' saying that Arsenal as a company are too small for him and he would only be buying shares to sell in a years time. Hmmm, why couldn't he buy up Northern Rock instead?
So how long before Schilling's (Usmanov’s lawyers) contact the UberGod moderator at Big Soccer the have this "offensive" thread title removed?
I really don't see the benefit of Kroenke selling now. His Rapids have an Arsenal agreement, he's got a small say in the dealings of the club, and his shares will continue to gain value as the debt is paid and profits increase.
If this guy can't get clear ownership, I don't see him sticking around. He doesn't strike me as the type to be happy as a minority owner. My guess is that, if the remaining owners stand strong, he moves on in a year or two to greener pastures.
Kronkie is the kingmaker now. Perhaps the board should have been nicer to him? I see two scenarios: 1. Kronkie is invited on to the board. 2. Usmanov buys Kronke's shares and launches a takeover bid.
The more recent statements by Hill-Wood (before Usmanov) seemed a bit more conciliatory towards Kroenke. I think Kroenke would be smart to join the currrent board and wait until Usmanov gets tired and sells his shares.
This whole takeover bid doesn't worry me at the moment. All the big players have said they are not selling their shares and as long as they can hold firm the blob won't take over the club. Sorted.
Ya the only crapshoot thing is that it only takes one of these big players to sell out to the fat russian. So that leaves speculation to be rife on a daily basis. Im kind of hoping that Kroenke comes out and teams up with the current board. I mean why not Arsenal is healthy and if he stays on for a few years im sure he could make a significant profit off of his shares when he decides to sell them. However i dont think this will happen because im sure relations are a bit strained. I bet Hill-Wood is kind of biting his tongue right now over what he said a few months ago, in my opinion it was a bit unnecessary. But then again it might have just been the english media stirring up s*it as usual.
What happened to all the people who were so hopeful of Dein coming back to be involved with the club again?
I think some people assumed that because he loved the club so much he'd do whatever was best for the club. Now he kind of looks like a crazy ass who's willing to do whatever he has to in order to get back on the board.
