Oxycontin is a very strong pain killer. However, it is formulated with fillers so that when taken properly the active ingredient releases slowly into your body giving the patient extended pain relief. The problem is that addicts learned that if they smash the tablet into a powder first and then ingest it, they can get the full effect of the narcotic at one time. They say the high resembles the high from heroin. Because it is so widely abused in poor rural Appalacian areas, it's called "Hillbilly Heroin". Murf
See you on the 15th, Mike. If you show up at the Swamp I'll buy you a beer to cry into after we whip your sorry asses.
so basically everyone is slumming from The Enquirer.... and who said jounrnalism has lost its integrity?
This has, sadly, been par for the journalistic course for some time now. They don't have to have any kind of verification, they can just report that some other news outlet said it. This was in today's Miami Herald, FWIW: http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/6920520.htm
[smokey] Rush, I'm gonna get you high man. It's Friday. You aint got no job. You aint got sh!t to do [/smokey]
Now he admits he's addicted and checking into rehab. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20031010/ap_on_re_us/limbaugh_painkillers_11
His claim that he will break his addiction "once and for all" is not an admission. He must acknowledge that he must wrestle with his demons every day for the rest of his life. I wish him the best of luck.
you mean like tommy chong? how lovely that on the same day chong gets dragged off to prison for selling bongs, fat bastard admits that he's been a narcotics addict for 5 or 6 years - deep down, didn't we all just know he was losing weight because of "little friends" seriously, i hope he gets well, takes up yoga for his back pain and never speaks into a microphone again
Not to mention his ranting and raving about "the rule of law" during Clinton's impeachment. If these allegations are true about his using his housekeeper to illegally procure drugs this represents the height of hypocrisy on so many different levels. Seems like another conservative moralist (after Newt Gingrich and William "The Gambler" Bennett among others) from the "do as I say not as I do" wing of the Republican party has been exposed.
Really? I hope he can't shake the addiction and that his entire life and career are destroyed. I'd love to see him destitute and homeless, walking the streets of LA (or wherever he lives) muttering to himself. I want him to be forced to eat from trash cans. I want to see him living in a cardboard box.
God it's bad to tap dance on another's misfortunate but.... this bastard (fat and waify) just asked for this. When you act like you are holier than thou and personally demonize people for the very things you are doing then you have it coming. Karma is a bitch huh Rush?
He's guilty of what, exactly? Taking prescription medicine? If we find that he has broken the law, then he should pay the price.
Guilty of buying prescription drugs without a prescription. He admitted as much on his radio show today.
