The only game I saw Tanaka play in was at the Montreal game. And after the PK no one on our team was even trying, so I feel like I can't judge him from that.
What the hell happened to the health of this squad? According to the interview with Kreis yesterday on ESPN700 (from the 4:55 mark to the 7:05 mark) the following players have knocks: Javi - out for Dallas and USOC game - same muscle problem Wingert - ahead of curve, trainers holding him back. Maybe on Saturday - same muscle problem Tanaka - slight muscle strain - questionable for weekend Cruz - slight muscle strain - questionable for weekend Schuler - out for Dallas and USOC game - has a cast on his foot Saborio - questionable for Saturday, hasn't trained this week - knee swelling PJ - questionable, had a tooth infection after getting his teeth fixed up Add KB and Nicky gone on international duty, our lineup will probably be: -----------------Reynish --Tony----Olave------Borchers----Wingert? ------------------Yordani -------Ned---------------------Will ---------------------Gil -------------Espy----------Sabo? If Wingert can't go, we almost have to put Will at outside back and move Steele into the middle If Sabo can't go, looks like Bonfigli is set to get his first start. We really need to get 3 points off a struggling Dallas side.
Ironic that everybody gets hurt during the weeks off. Maybe the solution to RSL's persistent injury woes is two games a week. I expect this match to be closer & more uncomfortable than anyone wants to admit. Dallas got screwed out of a point in Chi-town (seriously, I think Pappa could have gotten to the ball before Grazzini who was taking the PK) and they looked pretty good up there.
the things we have going for us are that they'll have short rest. Missing players (did Hernandez get the red at the end of the game?) and are in a really bad slump lately. the things going against us are that they have really nothing to lose coming here, always give us fits, and we seem to be dropping like flies in terms of injuries.
Schiller in a cast? ********. I wasn't expecting morales, quad strains are a bitch and very finicky to recover from. Who gives a shit about tanaka. Hope sabo's knee is better, don't want to really see pj as a starter right now.
well Shuler is in a cast, I'm not aware of Schiller though. I'll have to look up his status (and when the hell he got on the team) Tanaka needs to be healthy if Wingert isn't. If not, we're looking at either Will Johnson converted to an outside back (which isn't terrible) or someone like Chris Estridge (who the hell...) getting their first ever RSL minutes...
I'm hearing Schuler will be out for a month. He has some kind of bone thing going on in his foot. Don't ask me when the month started because I don't know.
he didn't play against BYU, right? Sot this month started after the Seattle match and before the BYU one... or so logic would suggest Also, I've come to not trust the time frames the training staff throws out. They are off by months sometimes...
listened to the kreis interview, schuler has a stress fracture in his foot. i wouldnt at all be surprised if it happened on seattles shit ass field. or maybe he had a bone bruise and then playing on seattles concrete made it worse. if they can keep it from getting worse than he should be back in 3-4 weeks.
weather for this game looks like its going to be windy, shitty, and cold http://www.weather.com/weather/wxdetail2/USUT0226
I just have to give a quick plug for how awesome my wife is. We are in the middle of moving from New York to California and I'm driving a moving van cross country (sitting in a hotel room in Nebraska at the moment). However, we will be in Utah for our anniversary (the 26th) and my wife called to tell me she's getting tickets for the game! This is going to be my first time ever at the RioT, super excited! (Although, somehow I always thought when this day came there would be more Rimando/Beckerman/Morales/Saborio and less rain/cold.)
so, if I'm reading this correctly, Ian Joy will be in the booth for this one instead of Dunny: http://www.realsaltlake.com/news/2012/05/rsl-match-preview-notes-saturday-may-26-v-fc-dallas
The consensus in the FCD forum is that Hilario red carded Drew Keeshan (GK coach). Either way it's not like Hernandez alone improves FCD's play. Also George John was taken out of the game in Chicago with concussion symptoms. FCD may be down to one CB, rookie Matt Hedges, if John is held out.
I_Believe_In_Kreis, you referenced this on another thread, is Sabo for sure out for this match? utes1478, check the twitter handle for the Royal Army for tailgaiting. They usually do it 2 or 3 hours before kick on the north-west side of the stadium
Questionable is what I'm hearing. But my wife saw Sabo leaving the stadium after training a couple hours ago and she said he looked to be fine. See what lengths I'll go to to get the latest scoop?
