Round 2 and hopefully no monsoons on the way.

Can RSL win one again? Since May 18 RSL has not won a match.
Will RSL have some new faces?
    Can they survive without Pope?

The Metros are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the hot streaking Revs.

    Discuss!

We're at home, on turf, but the Metros play on turf too. Does that cancel out the advantage we seem to have at home? Or are we on the mend now that we have learned to score again? Will Gustav be available and would that make a difference? What is the meaning of life anyway? :D

*It better not. RSL has been too good on turf now to let it slip away. But if there is one team that might be good on turf its the Mutts.

Or are we on the mend now that we have learned to score again?
*Rebound my boy. Here comes Mathis!

Will Gustav be available and would that make a difference?
*I believe he will. And with Eddie gone, it will make an immediate impact.

What is the meaning of life anyway?

Just to let you know our best player, Amado Guevara, is suspended for this game due to yellow card accumulation and it looks like Razov will be out also due to injury.

I predict a RSL win (1-0). RSL seems to be playing better now. The defense will show up and SOMEONE will score up top.

RSL wins this one. Finally, a victory for the home crowd. 2-0

On second thought, I really don't think DJ keeps a clean sheet in this contest. 2-1 RSL

At home with a good sized and active crowd should fire us up. I see Watson creating another score (whether it's him or because of him doesn't matter) and I think Mathis finally comes through. 2-0 I think we will keep a clean sheet.

Will the three old men will be playing? I don't think the team can win many games if Kreis, Mathis, and Williams all start. I know that these are some of our most-paid players, but as a group they aren't fast enough. Kreis has played well and creates, so put him up top with Watson. The team is so thin that I don't think we can sit both Williams and Mathis, so put in one as A-mid, and use the other as a sub. Hopefully, Cabrera will be ready to play and our defense can hang tough. (Now there's just that little 'midfield' thing to worry about...)

I think trading Mathis or Williams should be considered; preferably for someone that will always be able to play a full 90.

Williams played a great game against LA and Chicago. Maybe if Ellinger would stop playing all 3 in a different position every other game, maybe they would have a better chance to produce.

Good point. It's hard to find a groove if you're filling different roles each game.

What I was thinking was Kreis always playing forward. Williams always at A-mid. Mathis is either A-mid or forward, depending on who else is on the field. Two positions for the three of them. Nowhere else. Right now, I think Williams is playing better than Mathis, so Kreis and Williams should start. Mathis comes in at the half or early in the second for whichever one is playing worse or looking the most tired. I don't know how Mathis would respond to playing as a sub, but that seems like the best thing for the team as a whole.

Isn't Williams leaving for NT duty? Or is that after the game on the 4th?

You must have missed the Chicago game then. Kreis and Mathis were left and right wings and Williams was the a-mid (he was on the wing in the previous game).
That means Mathis and Kreis has played wing, a-mid and forward in their last 3 matches.

Jamiaca doesn't play til Friday July 8 so I think Williams leaves after July 4th.

I meant those are the positions I think they should be in, not where they have been so far.

A very cogent and well-thought point that I had not considered. You're absolutely right.
