The foul on Johnson should have been a yellow card. Two feet studs up into Johnson's ankles. We were lucky the foul was called at all.
What is Sabo doing? It's like he doesn't want to do anything against "His Team". Edit... So now he's playing.
I don't think so at all. He's getting manhandled all over the field when he doesn't have the ball. So, he doesn't have the rhythm of the game Andy limping badly.
Started to see some fatigue as this wore on. We're going to have some goals in the second half as the defenses leave bigger gaps and lanes.
half, 0-0. solid half from the boys, withstood the pressure and got a couple really good chances on goal. beckerman and olave should have both had a goal, bolivar coming up massive with the saves.
Halftime and we still have the 2:0 lead! We were not overwhelmed or not nearly so nervous as folks might have worried. The turf troubled us a bit, but, fundamentally, we found the ability to play our game here and there, enough to worry Saprissa. As the half wore on, the game was increasingly played in Saprissa's end of the pitch. Saprissa will come out *very* aggressively at the half and we will have to absorb it and hopefully find an early counter to get them to be more respectful.
those first 10 minutes were pretty scary, guys had to absorb quite a bit of pressure before they got their feet under them. the last 15 minutes was solid, typical RSL play.
My favorite part so far was when Javi was bringing the ball down the right side, popped it up in the air on a challenge, spun around two defenders, and caught up with the ball after it landed and its spin kept it from rolling away. He started his move the second it popped up -- it looked like he knew exactly how it was going to behave on the turf.
The crowd into very full voice now. Time to see what kind of composure an MLS team can bring. Come on RSL!
I'm ok with that goal. If they can hit them like that, they deserve to score. It wasn't a meltdown goal of crap proportions. Not happy about that, but shots like that happen. I hope it's the punch in the face to turn our guys onto full speed.
Need to find our rhythm again. And, the CR needs to call the fouls that are happening to RSL players.
