Victory Gold was my favorite kit we've ever had. This current one is hideous. I'm not sure he's really earned a significant raise yet.
Is this team really going to go into a new year with the team as it currently is? We lost a lot of quality players. Rimando, Saucedo, Lennon, Plata, maybe Beckerman, no way this club goes into the next season without a couple quality signings.
It's a decent side still, starting XI at least. But nothing much after spot 13 or 14. MacMath/Ochoa/Putna Herrera - 2 of Glad/Onuoha/SIlva - Toia (what the hey, it worked mostly last year) Kreilach Everton Savarino Rusnak Baird Sam Worthwhile subs . . . Besler? Whatever CB doesn't start? Holt maybe? We seem keen on Martinez.
Yes, Dunny will need a new talking point. As it stands right now, it isn't an inspiring side I don't think, but not a bottom of the barrel team either.
Sure the starting 11 can probably somewhat hold their own, but we all know we'll have at least two out at any given time due to injury.
Interesting article on why so few players make the jump from USL to MLS on The Athletic, which includes several mentions of RSL and the Monarchs.
So you're saying that it will only affect the last 10 minutes of the game when Freddy finally decides to maybe use 1 or 2 of his available subs...
There's a fuzzy photo of the jersey at https://www.footyheadlines.com/2020/01/real-salt-lake-2020-home-kit.html.
So, since it was pointed out in the article, why does RSL have three stripes on the shoulders? Will we start referring to RSL as the Three-Stripes a la Atlanta Five-Stripes?
That's Adidas' current design template. Three stripes over the shoulder instead of down the shoulder sleeve or side. All of the jerseys will most likely have the stripes there.
I'm taking personal credit for this signing: Looks like Milan Iloski is skipping his senior season with UCLA - been told he is signing a Homegrown contract with Real Salt Lake. Iloski was terrific for the Bruins in 2019. https://t.co/jyX7VOvSG2— J.R. Eskilson (@JREskilson) January 13, 2020
What? I'm confused. You mean we actually signed a decent player right under the noses of the LA Galaxy and LAFC? What magic is this?
Julian Vazquez gets called up to the Mexico U-20 camp. https://www.rsl.com/post/2020/01/13/rsl-forward-julian-vazquez-receives-first-call-mexico-u-20-camp Interesting. I haven't heard much about him, but I guess he's a dual national since he was born in Utah.
he's part of our academy, so we'd have had to passed him up and let him go to LA. Not saying that wouldn't have happened without @irondeepbicycle
I understood that was a part of our academy system, but left when he went to UCLA so he was essentially a free agent. I guess that is not the case.
MLS teams can retain Homegrown status for players attending college. Essentially they just need to add them to a list asserting them as a Homegrown player. If they do that, and then offer them a contract prior to the draft, they will be ineligible for the draft and the team will retain their rights.
Trib now went the way of a paywall...annoying. So I didn't read all of this, but sounds like Beckerman deal close which will surprise, well, um...no one. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/rsl/2...818.387928705.1578978839-108306504.1574995627
Blue shorts are back this season. I've never been a fan of them, but I know a lot of people are. Maybe they'll tie in or distract from the leaked tie-dye jersey. Blue is back pic.twitter.com/LR6VikK8cS— Real Salt Lake (@realsaltlake) January 15, 2020
