Zlatan is 38 years old, not sure age is the only issue.

I'd say Ibra is the exception, not the norm.

Tanner Dieterich is listed as an eligible player for the MLS Superdraft, probably ensuring that we didn't offer him an HG contract.

He's not the hottest prospect in the world but if we're going to have a 5th string defensive mid who doesn't play often, I'd rather it be 21 year old Dieterich instead of 27 year old Portillo.

Good thing we have the Monarchs, or else we'd have no way to sign late-20s USL journeymen.

Kurowskybob called into the US U-20 camp (along with David Ochoa).

The list of ones that got away is growing. Apparently no Elliot Käck, despite Elliot Fall's best efforts to land him. "Highly anticipated" may be a bit of hyperbole.

No big deal IMO. Not sure why we were so keen on him really.

He’s a free kick specialist. We recently hired a set piece coach didn’t we? Maybe our future offensive style will truly be offensive and emphasize the flop and free-kick attack. Justen Glad will be sprinting the entire length of the field and back 15 times per game.

I don’t know why Fertil-Pierre made me immediately think of Pepe Le Pew. Probably my gutter mind.

SuperDraft is underway. Nkosi Burgess went at 14, and the other guy predicted for us - Dayonn Harris - has been mentioned for teams since pick 9.

. . . and now Michael Wetungu from Michigan State, a big central defender. Monarchs and Olave, here comes Wetungu.

There wasn't anyone at picks 20 and 46 who could have helped up top. Harris as a winger was the best bet.

Quality in the college drafts these days are really about the top 5-6 picks. Then it's about possible back-ups, USL players, and shots in the dark.

For what it's worth, Travis Clark writing for MLSSoccer.com graded us as one of the top four drafts:

    Real Salt Lake
GRADE: A- Both of Real Salt Lake’s picks may not work out in MLS, but Dayonn Harris is an exciting flank player that could end up sneaking onto the MLS roster. Second-round pick Michael Wetungu has the build and physicality to make the leap to the pro level, and if he can refine his game with the Monarchs, a move up the ladder one day wouldn’t be a huge shock.

    Draft summary:

    • Dayonn Harris (Round 1, #20)
    • Michael Wetungu (Round 2, #46)

Some guys on Reddit are claiming this is a leak of the upcoming RSL jersey. I'm really hoping this is a training top. If not, the boob crown jersey is no longer the worst RSL jersey.

Honestly, given what we had for a design on the away shirt last season, this isn't too surprising.

I always wonder when people's main complaint is a jersey is boring. That suggests that the crown and the thumbprint are fine because at least they aren't boring.

According to the Athletic we have decided to give Baird more money and locked him up for 3 years. Our up top questions have been answered /s

Meh. It's a jersey. At least it's not the piss-yellow "Victory Gold" Jersey. I don't remember if RSL ever won a game playing in that jersey.
