I understand all that, but even with things not ideal, other teams still manage to put out better designs consistently. It's just frustrating. You'd think that it wouldn't be difficult for a team to see the available templates, and make something on their own and just send it to Adidas. I suppose maybe that isn't possible, but if it were, then it's something we should do.
Yeeeaaaaa, it doesn't work that way. Picture a college age kid (maybe 20-24 years old) sitting behind a computer dreaming about designing the next Kobe's (hell, Adidas doesn't even sponsor him anymore) or Lillard's (because....Portland) or maybe an NBA team jersey (really, the vast majority of Adidas design attention goes to NBA products and big name Euro soccer teams like ManU, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventes), then he get's a "project" dropped on his desk...."design RSL's jersey by 5 pm tonight, team wants something like _______________." The first thing he's going to think is "who the ******** is Real Salt Lake?", then he'll spend 30 minutes googling us, another 30 minutes looking at our last jersey, 30 minutes watching cat videos on facebook, 1 hour bullshitting with his friends on break, 2 hours in an afternoon meeting, 1 hour "checking emails", and then 30 minutes before 5 he'll remember he has to get this done so he fires the generic Adidas MLS jersey template through their design software and adds some pinstripes. Done.
That's why I was wondering if RSL was able to design a jersey based off of one of their templates, and basically send it to Adidas as this is what they're wanting made. I fully get that we're low on the totem pole as far as an actual Adidas employee designing anything, so I was hoping that maybe RSL could do it, and possibly get something better out of it that way.
You've got to remember the conference effect. Hands down the path to the finals is easier in the east so their odds of winning is higher. Were it a single table I think you would see rsl jump 2 maybe 3 spots. I'm a little surprised by SJ being higher but whatevs it's just numbers
Every time I am away in a meeting or something and then click back into the forum I expect you all to have shared exciting news about the CB with me. Quit letting me down!
Our starting CB wish has been traded to Mexico for some hopes, dreams and platitudes. Cassar is really proud...
I guess Sundays at camp haven't been 'Sunny' yet...guess this means he gets to U.S. and heads straight to AZ camp. Do not find an apartment, do not get adjusted to snow, etc.. Moya does interesting work on racism and soccer, and I used this Tweet as an excuse to inquire if he'll be in the USA and interested in speaking here on the Palouse.
Interesting on the conversations of the jersey. I like ours except for the fake collar, which I find super tacky like a Chinese counterfeit device. Second thing, we call RSL the claret and cobalt, but they haven't actually used Cobalt on the kit for years. What Real Monarchs wear as shorts is the actual Cobalt color. I think Cobalt is an improvement for the previous blue we have used, but that is entirely as personal preference. I like our jerseys going back to mimicking the Spanish National Team colors, to which this kit gets back.
I prefer a darker blue like we use. however, if we're going to call ourselves the "claret and cobalt" it only makes sense to actually wear those colors. I wish we could get the creativity the Spanish kits get. It's not always good, but our road kits are always incredibly boring. I'd like a bright neon one for a change. Just for the hell of it
