It would've been nice if Javi would've made up his mind sooner. I'm guessing the surgery would've happened sooner as well.
No, an earlier signing would not have made a difference. What is yet to be determined is how well an older and perhaps more fragile Javi makes it through the season.
Andy Williams gave a little insight on where our new striker is coming from: https://twitter.com/bommadog/status/298883489699360768
In true messi fashion he wouldn't walk, he would look to be falling just to run past anyone who tried to help
I had missed the part where he injured it in scrimmage. I had figured it was something that had needed to be done but hadn't yet do to not being signed with a team. While initially frustrated, it makes more sense now that it was a current thing that happened.
Awe... that's so sad. If he's sensitive about it, maybe he shouldn't say it. Just say, "It takes an indeterminable amount of time to close deals on foreign players. As soon as we know, you'll know." He's a lawyer, he should be better at those kinds of statements.
Saw this on the press release about AZ academy players declaring their college. What do you think it means?
It means he's going to turn pro. Either with RSL or he is reportedly being pursued by Mexican clubs. He's on trial with RSL. I'd be surprised if they don't offer him a HG deal. Whether or not he accepts is another matter.
Not sure if everybody's aware of this (since RSL hasn't done a great job promoting it) but there's an open house Saturday at the team store from 1-4. They're doing FIFA '13, free food, etc., and appearances by Wingert and Findley. Also there will be a live On Frame broadcast from the team store from 1-3...Kamler, James Rust, and I are hosting. Stop by and say hi. If you can't make it, at least tune in...I'm hoping we'll have some things to say you haven't heard before.
