Chelsea agreed a £7m deal with Belgian side Genk for midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in January 2012, and he headed off on loan to Werder Bremen for the 2012-13 season. After impressing in the Bundesliga, his return to England would surely give him a chance to shine, right? Wrong. Manager Jose Mourinho didn't see his talent, and by January 2014 he had been allowed to move permanently to Wolfsburg for around £18m. Just 18 months later, Man City paid around £55m to sign him and now he's the best attacking midfielder in world football. https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...es-pogbahazardpepe-among-the-worst-since-2010
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has donated Stamford Bridge's hotel rooms to NHS staff again. :applause: A statement from the club read: “With England back in lockdown, Chelsea Football Club is once more providing accommodation at Stamford Bridge to the National Health Service (NHS). “Club owner Roman Abramovich will again be covering the costs of providing the accommodation, which includes bed and breakfast, in the Copthorne Hotel. A similar initiative was rolled out last March in response to the first coronavirus outbreak in London. “Many of the medical staff will be working long hours and may not be able to travel home or would have to make long commutes at a time when the virus is so transmissible. The rooms will be initially available until the next government review in mid-February.

Love to see it. Crazy (and unsurprising) how his most relevant stats went down the drain as soon as he stopped being used to do what he does best.
Yeah, that was the standout piece of the article for me too. Just fell off a cliff in terms of usefulness and more than a few saying he was surplus to requirements and to sell him. Would take a kings ransom to part with him right now.
