It's gonna get worse before it gets better.

I think he sees more of a pathway to minutes next season with the uncertainty of Alonso and Emerson at left back. Even if we buy big in the summer, Maatsen could be very beneficial.

Villa apparently want to end Drinkwater's loan early after he got in a scrap and headbutted a teammate in training. You read that right.

Nobody wants this guy, and we lost our minds and paid him too much, so now he's unwilling to take less, reducing the list of potential takers massively.

Hopefully, his becoming such a headache :ROFLMAO: for all parties will serve as a warning for us to never make that kind of purchase again. At this point, I hope he just makes more and more of an ass of himself to really drive the lesson home

    He's under contract through June 30, 2022.

Of all the Charlie Brown signings, this one is the Charlie Browniest.

With his string of incidents, is there any grounds to sack him (terminate his contract) and save a hefty amount of wages?

No doubt it would drag through the courts but he's owed in the region of 10m until the end of his deal and he's hardly a model of professionalism.

The Athletic is reporting that the team was told not to come to training today because someone close to the team is showing signs of COVID-19.

Leicester are reporting at least 3 players are self quarantined after showing symptoms. Real Madrid are self quarantining their entire squad because a basketball player at Real Madrid tested positive.

    UEFA are meeting today.

This shit is off. All of it.

NBA cancelling their season pretty much set a huge precedent.

My employers were planning on implementing a permanent work from home policy, I just started WFH last week.

    My company as well.

Moving Euros, conference tournaments are cancelling, MLS postponed, Eredivisie until the end of March.

My local club's home opener is next week. I'm highly considering sitting this one out. I'm an ox, but I have a parent with cancer (In remission thankfully).

    This.

Unless you are a social hermit, we all come into contact with people who are especially vulnerable. The reaction is extreme but these are measures to help prevent the spread and whilst I'm not concerned for myself but it would be awful if it was passed on to someone it could impact.

    Just a giant cluster.

Anyway, off to buy another 100 rolls of toilet paper just to make sure....

Even before all this I wasn't taking chances. Chemo does a lot to a person, so I was paranoid. I nearly lost it with a colleague who was suffering from pneumonia and was coming in. Granted they didn't know the symptoms, but it was obvious they weren't feeling great.

Yep, "indefinite" suspension. Speculation is that they'll be back mid-to-late April, in time for the playoffs to start.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has just been confirmed by the club to have COVID-19.

    Call the thing already.

It’s only a matter of time. We made the call to close the Seattle Aquarium yesterday, we’ve seen the deluge of closings and suspensions today. Whoever was joking about the PL closing the season Liverpool was destined to finally win is going to get their wish.

I've been reading that while one may no longer show signs and can produce two negative tests in a row they can still carry the virus and still need to self quarantine. I'll be curious if that happens here.

Oh yeah - it's the carrying that's the problem. You gotta stay away.

In the beginning we had idiots who showed symptoms and then went to movies, buffets, work, etc.

Yep. I'm a season ticket holder for Detroit City FC. We were supposed to join the NPSL but then we settled on the NISA. I'm quite excited that we're finally pro because we haven't had a pro footy team in 40 years. I mean, Austin Texas of all places has an MLS team and Detroit, a city with a significant sports fanbase, doesn't. Although that's more down to people not really pushing for it either, but still.

On a related note, my club did post this. I might just buy it:
