Kickoff is just over one week away. We open against a team that I have earmarked as a candidate for relegation this year. Reggina has already been knocked out of the Coppa by Napoli (C1). I predict we win 3-1 and neither Totti nor Cassano will get booked. :)

    Grazie, Boba.

I can't predict a score, but I'm optimistic about this
game. With Chivu and Kuffour, our defense will be more
solid this term. We've kept Mancini, and, at least as of
today, we'll still have Cassano as a seconda punta.
Taddei has added quality to our midfield, and we even
have some depth on the bench, with a tough defender
like Bovo able to deputize. I fear we're going to lack a
little concreteness, that we're going to be a bit fragile
and over-artistic (viz. Arsenal) this season, but I'm
confident that Roma will play--as usual--some of the
brightest calcio in Serie A. The shame of last year
    will be forgotten.

    Forza Roma!

Our defence is definatly upgraded with Kuffour. I hope we'll play with three centerbacks. We have a lot for Reggina to handle. Montella, Cassano, Totti, Taddei, and Mancini will be to much for the Reggina defence. Hopefully Rome can steal Mozart from them.

I would love to see Mozart in a Roma shirt. He and Mesto make up a pretty solid midfield for Reggina. Bianchi will help them up front, but without Bonnazzoli, I agree that our defense will be up to the challenge. The Juve "unfriendly" reassured me that the defensive confusion of last season is definitely behind us.

    Roma 3-1 Reggina

I think a 2-1 win is realistic. Reggina isn't exactly a monster side, but they are hosting AS Roma. Reggina gets a late goal.
Last season, Roma really fell on their face when many pundits thought they would be in Europe.

If Cassano stays, Roma should play with three forwards or Totti right behind Montella and Cassano. Two holding mids and Mancini and Taddei out wide of the wings. I would go with a three center-back defence instead of having the dreadfull Panucci.

    With Cassano

    ----------------------------Curci
    -----------------Mexes-----Kuffour-----Chivu

    --------------------De Rossi-------Perrotta
    --Mancini-------------------------------------------Taddei

    ----------------------------Totti
    --------------------------------------Cassano
    --------------------Montella

    Without Cassano

    ----------------------------Curci
    ---Panucci-----------Kuffour-----Chivu------------Chiellini

    --------------------------De Rossi
    --------Mancini--------------------------------Taddei
    ----------------------------Totti

    ----------------------Montella---Mutu

FYI, two assists for Totti this game . . . and Cassano
did not even warm up with the subs. Channel 4 thinks
it is his last game for Roma.
