ROB's beautiful goal last Saturday was not considered a candidate for MLS's goal of the week but Taylor Twellman's goal was!

Who picks these goals for seirra mist?

ROB needs to get a better agent.

We love ya Ronnie! Keep playin your best and the accolades and $$ will come -

It was a sweet goal. I think whoever picked them just doesn't appreciate what a quality goal that was.

Don't know if i would have picked it for GOTW but it at least deserved a nomination IMO.

Agreed that he deserved a nomination.

Look, one of the nominations a couple of weeks ago was Mullan's goal that was a couple of miles offside. (There was no greater unintentional comedy than seeing some Quakes fans try and make the case that he wasn't REALLY offside. Yeah, whatever. I'm pretty sure that they know the offside rule in Houston.)

Anyway, they've established their lack of credibility in judging what goal should be nominated for GotW.

You could argue it was about the situation, but that's not usually what this contest judges on. For sheer beauty, it's a no-brainer between those two.

I actually clicked on the link to vote and couldn't believe that ROB's possible candidate for goal of the year wasn't up for goal of the week. This is total BS and I don't mean Big Soccer either.

Forget the bull$hit online poll crap! Those of us that are real fans know a quality goal (and player) when we see one. Tough loss for you guys.

Hell, I would have voted for the RO'B goal.

    The hand-off from Alvarez ...
    Parkhurst's frantic lunge ...
    and Reis grabbing air ...

Sickening to this Rev fan, but a thing of beauty for a fan of the game.

It did make the FSW Report top 10 on Sunday, at least.

It was so pretty the way he held it on his right, teasing Reis into going down, then pulled it to the left and calmly slotted it in from no angle.

It made me think of Pele schooling Stallone on that 1-v-1 in "Victory." Then he slammed goalkeepers in general by saying, "You know, Hatch, to be honest, you don't kick well. You don't dribble well. But, you could be a good goalkeeper. Keep trying."

    Ouch.

Now this is an awesome photo! For anyone who saw the goal, it captures the moment well. Well done Mr. Bales.

I like what the goal showed about ROB as an all-around scoring threat. The other GOTW candidates were long range bombs - then this moment of vision, pace, and touch. Wonderful. One of my favorite players for sure.

Am I allowed to say that as an RSL follower? ;)

Maybe not on the RSL boards, but that kind of adoration is very welcome here.
