We started discussing this a bit on the "Former Athletica Players" thread, but I thought we should give it its own thread since we had veered off the subject. Is anyone up for anymore road trips in 2010? I am looking at the following possibilities: 8/22 (Sunday, 5 pm) FC Gold Pride at Chicago (on FSC) 8/28 (Saturday, 7 pm ET, 6 pm CT) FC Gold Pride at Atlanta 9/5 (Sunday, 5 pm) Washington at Chicago (on FSC) 9/5 (Sunday, 6 pm ET, 5 pm CT) Sky Blue at Atlanta Chicago are day trips, Atlanta would be a one-night sleepover. I would probably consider doing one trip to Atlanta and one to Chicago (although I'm not sure my body would agree with my ability to do that). If anyone is interested, please post and let us know your preferences. I can fit four people fairly comfortably in my car. I won't charge for gas to either place (but if we use two cars, that doesn't mean the other person won't). You're on your own for everything else. I assume the Red Stars are still honoring Athletica tickets.
I'd love to, but.... school; the first two weeks will be packed with getting back into the swing of things, "welcome back" activities, and my student groups getting their heads on straight. T_T
Did anyone go to any games? I had hoped to go to Atlanta for the game (as it turned out) in which they were defeated 6 - 1. The logistics just didn't work out for us. Definately knew I could not go for Labor Day weekend game... Just fun to hear about trips & living our ladies through the travels of others...
Yeah, you said it. I'm in Sunset Hills so it was REALLY quick for me! Wonder if some grill will broadcast the playoff games? Would be very nice if the soccer park would have a viewing party. It's be great to see all our old friends!
What a great idea! But maybe the Soccer Park is anti-WPS now? I mean they've taken down every reminder tof the Athletica's existence! Even if they aren't anti-WPS I doubt they'll have a viewing party but they SHOULD!!! What about getting a USWNT game here? Then we can all get back together at the Soccer Park and see Hope and Lori! As far as road trips this season goes it looks like no one from Laclede's Army went anywhere after that Chicago game earlier in the season or if they did they didn't mention it here.
