Aside from the obvious common sense explanation for the credential denial - control the message as much as you can...

My 89-year-old grandmother has Parkinson's, and SHE could kick the Zardmeister's ass... :D

Let us point out that the 'zardmeister isn't even the Wizards' mascot, that would be CHopper/Dynamo. I think it's pretty rediculous that the Wizards' FO won't issue credentials for your mascot, though. Regardless, we will be in lot B5, we welcome any and all, and we hope you have a melancholy trip home!

Best bars in KC are all concentrated in one area, Westport, which is a district pretty close to the stadium. Anyone can give you good directions. Just take i-70 west from the stadium, and exit on the Broadway exit, under the convention center. Take it South a few miles, until you hit Westport Road. If you'll be in Lawrence, deffinitly check out Massachustes street, esp. the Red Lion and the Replay Lounge (Pansy Division will be playing there after the game I might add)

Oh yeah, there are 5 or six riverboat casinos north of town. You can take i-70 west from the stadium, then take 1-35 north. Nice that you can gamble, but Missouri has wierd laws, namely that you have to pay for your own drinks at said casinos, and that most require you to register for a players card before you're even allowed to step foot onto the gaming floor.

Contact me - I would love to get some photos of RapidMan in the Arrowhead parking lot. Possibly the Mystics tailgate....

    This is a joke, right?

I find it incredible that they would not allow another teams representative attendance to the match. What kind of BS (and that's not BigSoccer) management do they have there in KC?

I would assume that most teams would be wary of having the other teams mascots. The idea is to create "home field advantage" afterall.

    Post-trip update:

Thanks to everyone who went, it really was a fun time despite the obvious result.

Recap: we showed up at 5pm to tailgate, only to find temperatures in the near-freezing with an ungodly wind chill. Had to put on literally all the clothes in my bag and then Rapids jersey over top, making me look like the Michelin man.

Saw Greenie and Joe Curcurio in the lot, as well as 2 other vanloads of Rapids season ticket holders, and then the Rapids van arrived with the "whackos" fan club, who unloaded like a clown car of guys with drums. Those guys are great! Rapidman was with them too, without costume, don't worry, your secret identity is safe with the 25 or so of us that were there.

Once inside the stadium, the whackos went nuts on their drums, and brought their big blue flags. The Wizards fans there had their eyes popping in disbelief. We were by far the loudest group in the stadium, sitting over in the SW? corner, diagonally opposite the Mystics (who for some reason have a big black and blue banner of their own).

First half we were pumped and the Rapids players saluted us a few times pregame and during intro's. Second half we lost steam but hung in there. Mastroeni and Cannon came over and threw their jersey/gloves into our section, and it seemed like the whole squad was genuinely pleased to see us there with such a vocal presences.

Best moment of the match: the entire crew chanting "yellow card, yellow card" to the ref right in front of us after a Wizards tackle; the ref looks right up at us and shakes his finger, 'no'. That was great, provoking a reaction from the ref!

Great turnout, definitely surpised the hell out of the KC locals (PS there were less people at the match then at our game, despite their bogus attendance announcement of over 10,000).
