Lmao 1416385278302957568 is not a valid tweet id Seriously ******** Germany for trying to paint us as Racists. You would think that if a player on the team was really racist then all the other Black guys on our team would have a real problem with it.
So the apparently this is what happened and what led to the bust-up during the Germany and Honduras game. 1).
I have to say this situation really does infuriating me. For many reasons but principally: * For a bit of context the European game has been highly racialised over the last year or so. This is largely due to importing American race relations and BLM activism in European society. This is not to say that the UK, or in this case Germany is a Eutopia, of course like any society there are bad eggs some of which think say and write horrible things on the internet. Thankfully, this is a miniscule minority with the vast major being sick to their core with any behaviour of that sort. Here is the problem though, the proportionality and the context is completely devoid of any situation noe. Now what we see is, time after time, instance like this one being interpreted as racist. When they're quite simply not. Interestingly, the irony is that this type of interpretation is completely Eurocentric and steeped in its own prejudice. As by it's very nature it doesn't allow the nuance of allow divergence or accept cultural differences, like what we saw with our guys chatting in their cultural way. * There's been a lot of controversy in England over the taking the knee gesture. It has been highly charged with many saying that it has BLM overtones of which have wider connotations then solely an anti-racist gesture. In fairness the player have tried to distance themselves and said it doesn't mean that to them. Nonetheless, even the most impartial could argue that the gesture comes with some heavy bagage, at very least. I personally have been critical of it as I feel the game doesn't need a gesture that has been so decisive, despite what the players try to say, the gesture is inextricably tied to a movement that has a world view that many people don't share. This brings me on to why it annoys me so much, they have brought that divisiveness to a team made up a harmonious tapestry of heritages that all share a commonly of their nationality and language and tried to smeer it with European identify politics crisis. Do that shit in Europe if you must but don't try bring that to the Latin America game. There's my two cents ha
We've been inconsistent in our pressing and we're seemingly lazy in our 1v1 defending giving them all day to center a cross or take space. Kevin Alvarez experiment is close to being over cuz he's been horrendous in the air and in his marking. We need to step it up. We started really good and have straight up been ass since then.
This Backline is ass, Coito and his crap experiments. How do you not have a real 3rd/4th option at CB by now?
