In case some of you don't know, good friend and long time Barra Brava member Kenley Davis passed away suddenly this past Friday. For those of you who knew him you will certainly remember his smile, his booming laugh and his all around good nature. Kenley was truly a great guy and great friend to many of us. He will truly be missed. Services for Kenley will be held this Saturday at St. Andrews Apostle Catholic Church in Silver Springs, MD at 11:00. http://www.standrewapostle.org/ RIP my friend
I don't think I ever had a conversation with Kenley that I didn't walk away from with a big smile on my face, even a few too-serious conversations. One of the nicest people I have ever known. I'm gonna miss him.
100% with you. I was going to post that I've had nothing but great conversations with him. Fantastic guy, Lot 8 won't be the same.
On behalf of the Barra I wish to express my deepest condolences to Kenley's Family and to all Barra members who were a part of is life here on earth. You will be missed in lot 8. RIP Kenley.
Kenley was the definition of a true friend. His friendship wasn't gained easily, but once it was won he was absolutely loyal and gave his all to the friendship. He loved the Barra and the people he knew through United. though often critical of the team, he was there week and week out giving it his all for the side and his brothers and sisters in the stands. His loss leaves an enormous hole in my heart and the hearts of the many lives he touched and made that much brighter.
That's a real shocker -- but then Kenley always liked to create a buzz with his sporting opinions. I am saddened by the loss but I'll keep my brother's light alive in my heart. GM
DITTO that. He was just an all-around good guy, and always ready to laugh. There's a hole in the Barra now. RIP Kenley
This is a real shock and a real sadness. As others have said, he was someone who always left you feeling better for having been in the conversation. Rest in Peace.
Life is crazy. Last Monday we watched the Pitt/Uconn game with Kenley as we all crushed a few plates of wings. As soon as I got to Kilroys he promptly made fun of me for looking like an Eskimo. That was typical for our friendship. I'm going to miss hanging out with him. I wish his family great strength in dealing with their tragic loss.
Wow, not sure what to say, it'll take a while to process. We'll miss but won't forget you Kenley. RIP.
Kenley was one of the first people to befriend us when we joined the BB. He will be missed by the whole family.
Same on both counts. Kenley always had time to listen, a funny story to tell, or just a cold beer in hand to greet you. One of the most genuinely nice people ever. I'm really just shocked about this. RIP Kenley.
A few people have asked me about flowers or donations. His family welcomes flowers, if you want to send some they should go to the church. The church has requested no flower deliveries until 9:30 the day of the service.
I will be hosting a gathering of friends following the services on Saturday. Please join us to remember Kenley's life and spirit.
Although I only met the man a couple of times, i can say we always shared a laugh and exchanged views regardless of the topic. You will be missed but not forgotten. Be strong Barra family.
i was planning to order stuff from KBQ BBQ, i think grilling will just be a hassle. if you want to bring a "side" and so sort of alcohol that would be great.
