With Nick Rimando being voted man of the match versus San Jose he is on auction again. It is the red keeper jersey he wore in the match and it is on auction on E-Bay. Remember all proceeds go to United for D.C. Foundation so bid early and bid often. Link: http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=community&cont_id=112607
0 bids as of Friday morning. They can't make it $250 every week. Most of us (and I'm assuming those of us on bigsoccer are the ones most likely to buy these jerseys) don't have that kind of cash laying around.
And that does not include the money dropped at the capital soccer ball and other such events. Sorry but I am tapped out for the season. Lower the price.
Well, this isn't about getting game used DC United merchandise to the masses, this is about auctioning off equipment for charity. I also can't afford one, though I hope I can next year. But $250 or so for game used equipment is a fair price. Game used hockey jerseys run from $300-$5000.....and you don't know when they've worn them. With this jersey, you can tell your friends and family that this is the jersey that Rimando wore when he made some stunning saves against Landon Prima-Donovan and Co.
I will post a pic when I am done framing mine - but I have a great idea. I have won about four of these (yes, I know I have a sickness). I also got 8x10s from that game of that player - had the player sign the 8x10 and am having DC draft up a COA. I am having all three framed together and it will look great.
Understand....I have a couple game worn signed jerseys from capital soccer balls....but this auction is being exposed to a limited population those on BS and those who look around the DC WEB PAGEE. Is it better for a jersey not to get a bid or is it better that less money comes in.
Every jersey has gotten at least one bid so far. I think there has been one, maybe two, that only got a single bid and went for the minimum price.
