Tonight's first lef of the A-League playoff game got off to a furious start, with blown chances at both ends in the first 30 or so seconds and a brouhaha at the end with two yellows and a red and a pile-up in the Atlanta goalmouth. Final score 1-1 as a little used bench warmer for the Kickers came on in injury time to head in the tying goal.

And also 2 missed PK's (the 2nd was a re-take of the 1st) attempts by Richmond. Sounds like the 'Backs woke up.

As I picked Richmond over Atlanta, this is a rather surprising result. Atlanta has been in a freefall tailspin and while Richmond hasn't been setting the woods on fire lately either, their effort has been there and they are a solid, well coached team. The return leg in Atlanta should be a good one.
