The league's bearly 10 years old and we've got a team that plays cynically with a 1 goal lead from the 30th minute on.

    Maybe MLS has arrrived.

KC gets a lucky lucky goal in the 3rd minute and that's all she wrote.

I am all for getting Pepe on the field, but when you take off a striker to put in a midfielder, you sort of defeat the purpose of the move. Cancela then becomes a distributor with all of two players (Twellman & Dempsey) to distribute TO.

    ARGH.

That set the game back a few years. Not sure if I can watch soccer anymore after the recent revs and usmnt. That was pathetic. On the mlsnet feed they still have the announcers on. Lalas was saying it might have been the worst revolution performance he's ever seen. I don't know about that, but it was bad. Maybe they're saving it up for the end of the year this year like in years past.

Time to go back to the 3-5-2.

    True enough.

But that problem is a side effect of a problem the team has had since the beginning of 2005: a speed deficiency.

This team simply has two speeds: slow and medium.

The team has to allocate/acquire/trade for someone who can stretch opposing defenses with some speed, or risk losing a lot of 1-0 games.

Arghhhhhhh. I just try and remember, we lost to Chivas last year and still made it to the final.

Home opener will be a blow out. Chicago is terrible.

P.S. NY sucks. Keep unlimited faith.

First of all we are not passing the ball well. Last year, we had many one touch possesion soccer. This year, we pass back once, forward once but too slow and can't break the defense down. If we can't pass fast enough, we can not attack. However, Defense seems alright though.

The best way to slove the problem is by switching back to 3-5-2. This will increase the number of midfeilder and will be a better option for passing soccer.

The problem isn't the formation, nor is it the speed of the players, it's the fact that tonight the Revs couldn't beat a high school team. Twellman, Noonan, Dempsey, Dorman, Franchino/Leonard, and at times Hernandez, Joseph and Parkhurst couldn't complete a pass to save their lives. Reis, Heaps, and Cancela were the only Revs that came to play. The Revs didn't score because they didn't deserve to score. The fact that the Whizards were only marginally better is unimportant. It's humiliating to think that fans of other leagues might have been watching this game.
