As requested... Including Kizza, the Revs have 27 rostered players: SENIOR ROSTER (18/20) 1. Jozy Altidore 2. Emmanual Boateng 3. Gustavo Bou (I-DP) 4. Adam Buksa (I-DP) 5. Brandon Bye 6. AJ DeLaGarza 7. Andrew Farrell 8. Carles Gil (I-DP) 9. Omar Gonzalez 10. DeJuan Jones 11. Wilfrid Kaptoum (I) 12. Henry Kessler GA 13. Brad Knighton 14. Sebastian Lletget 15. Tommy McNamara 16. Matt Polster 17. Arnor Ingvi Traustason (I) 18. Matt Turner 19. 20. PROTECTED (OFF BUDGET) ROSTER (9/10) SUPPLEMENTAL (4/4) 21. Jacob Jackson 22. Ryan Spaulding 23. Jon Bell 24. Earl Edwards Jr. RESERVE (3/4) 25. Noel Buck (HG) 26. Lucas Maciel 27. Edward Kizza (I) - loaned to Memphis 3/30 for rest of 2022 28. HOME GROWN RESERVE (2/2) 29. Damian Rivera (HG) 30. Justin Rennicks (HG) According to the MLS site roster page, Maciel is no longer listed as an International (this could just be a mistake, or maybe he got his green card). If Kizza loan has no recall option, I believe that would free up an additional international slot, giving the Revs three.
The Bent Musket was reporting it as such - I'd guess that's [int'l slot] the primary motivation for the loan, as he had a similar option for playing time with Revs II. Makes me think that things are heating up for mid-season moves.
Rumor: Revolution eying a possible replacement at goalkeeper Could the Revs be bringing Serbian goalkeeper Đorđe Petrović? By Josh Nye thebentmusket.com Mar 31, 2022, 9:00am EDT
In today's press conference, Bruce said he expects Turner to resume training "in a week or two." https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/vi...get-settled-in-a-little-bit-more-during-break
Quite a few of those guys listed on the senior roster can occupy lower roster slots too. For example Bell, Spaulding, and Jackson should all be eligible for the reserve supplemental slots, and Kessler on his GA contract is eligible for a senior supplemental slot. What does that mean? That with Kizza on a season long loan the revs have 4 full senior roster spots vacant and 2 or 3 (depending on Maciel, who wasn't listed as INTL last season either) INTL roster slots open. The Petrovic signing would be interesting. Hes a Serbian youth international, so he might be part of the post Turner strategy immediately, or may be one for next year. In either case it would mean the revs are carrying 5 GK on their 30 man roster for the next few months, which is a lot
More details coming out on the Turner injuries. He had tendinitis (Arena says caused by frostbite) from the USMNT game in Minnesota, but that healed in a few days. He then came back to the Revs in LA and had a hairline fracture in his other foot from accidentally kicking another players' foot. Matt Turner explains foot injury behind New England Revolution, USMNT absence By Jonathan Sigal Saturday, Apr 2, 2022, 09:52 AM
Interesting the Arena is saying frostbite, while Turner/USSF are saying no, no, no. Regardless, scheduling the game in Minneapolis looks like it was reckless and negligent, not to mention stupid and unsporting. And, I say unsporting, knowing that we have to play in really tough conditions with smog, heat, humidity, hostile/threatening fans, etc. when we play on the road, but the USNT has really taken this too far. The success of the dos-a-cero game in Columbus has emboldened them to go way too far when frostbite is a realistic risk.

(Not to be confused with Marko Perovic... ) Bent Musket got this one right. Age 22, 6'4", one cap for Serbia. Three-year contract with one year club option. Needs his ITC, so I don't think we will see him in net vs Miami.
Revs put together a 1-minute highlight reel of Djordje Petrovic: https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/vi...ves-from-revs-newest-signing-djordje-petrovic
Big boy. Obviously young and still developing, and you can only learn so much from a highlight reel, but he didn’t show any sign of having sticky hands there. (I do have faith in our GK coaching, I’m just commenting on what they’re starting with.)
I noticed that too, and almost included in my comments. Nothing but parries. Could just be the bias of the reel-maker, we will see.

Revs apparently had 20 year old Colombian Dylan Morreiro in for a physical in the last couple of days. He's a speedy winger playing for Atlético Mineiro in Brazil's top league. Hearing he will fit in as an U22 Initiative player for the Revs, and the fee is reported around $4.5M. Also, Revs II look to be adding yet another Brazilian to the squad. Canalflazoeiro has noted that Revs scouts and Curt Onalfo have put a major interest in André (Andre Luiz Inacio da Silva) from Flamengo U20s. This is from Chris Chreighton.
Revs seem to be finally trying to mine the wealth of young Brazilian players - after a long history of barely dipping their toe in. Maybe this is coming from seeing Maciel make the 1st team with minimal investment.

Looks like this has happened: The Revolution signed Colombian U-20 national teamer Dylan Borrero on a $4.5 million transfer from Atletico Mineiro in Brazil Wonder if he still has to await a visa and all that?
