Leandro de Olivera plays in the second half.

“I’ve been struggling a little bit and if it wasn’t one thing it was the other. I’ve been trying to take things easy and come back little by little. It’s everything, fitness, my strength. I’m getting better and better every day and the reserve games are a good opportunity for me to get fir and show the coaches I am ready.”

It's a good thing EdLova wasn't anywhere near this match, his damn head would have exploded.

No one loves UConn more than him...

3 goals albeit against a college team but atleast they got to see what a goal looks like.

Nice brief summary from Andrew H.

I'd like to add that Leandro seemed overall a bit out of synch in his passing. He was basically playing left wing, and in the 70th minute beat his defender on a very nice run to the end line, then blasted a low centering pass that a streaking Kyle Brown slammed off the post and out, from about 5 yards.

Baby steps... let's hope Leandro gets/stays healthy. Oh, and you're going to like Willie Sims.

I didn't see Twellman or Franchino, but that doesn't mean they werent there. I did see Hernandez and Noonan but they didn't suit up. Warren DNP, TJ played the 2nd half.

:D Tony, the last time I heard you say that you were talking to me about a new rookie we had just signed called Joseph :D Hope your instincts are right this time as well.

FWIW, if my info is correct it was the Revs that asked for Simms to be signed to GA so they have had him on their radar for awhile.

Interesting, one wonders if Warren has been demoted to third Keeper status.

Cany anyone confirm if those half-zip, long-sleve training tops are for sale in the Pro Shop - or anywhere for that matter? Those are sweet, and just the type of replica merchandise us fans have been dying for.

hate to be a party pooper but unless this translates into 3 points this weekend.....

.... didn't we play enough worthless matches against lesser opponents in the preseason?

We have a bye this weekend, so playing a scrimmage isn't exactly worthless.

I know. You are totally right. It's about keeping match fit. I just feel like whining. I think a bye week is even worse than waiting for the season to start. Especially when it comes this early. What a fricken tease

Man, forget MLS let's just play in USL 1. We'll have the biggest crowds, nicest stadium, and win in a walk. :)

As I finally got the chance to read Hush's column, just noticed this:

Accordingly, scrimmages have been arranged fro next week against two more local college sides, Boston College and Harvard.
